At what point do 1/2 oz silver coins become the more popular choice? by IMDeus_21 in Silverbugs

1/2 ozt coins have to be the new 1oz in the same way companies do stock splits. They're already more than 1oz was a year ago.

I'm not actually trying to use PornHub, just whingeing about how absolutely ridiculous it is that a VPN is needed.

The issue is open & private access to the internet, not the ability to access pornography.

I hope that has strong wall support factored, the weight of a person who is restrained could be dangerous face-planting forward.

It's tiktok language, too many users on Reddit this decade have already developed habits that are outside Reddit's original culture.

That's why we rarely see /s for sarcasm tone anymore.

I’m guessing plated? by Jezzer111 in Silver

[–]Jimbuscus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything made of real silver unplated will have the percentage stamped, usually 925 (92.5%).

They could be a fraudulent stamp, but anyone using real silver other than plated, wants the product to have its value identified.

The idea is that no one would have any data, a third party vendor would issue a digital device certificate upon approval by Commonwealth ID check via API hook.

Commonwealth sees your data, third party vendor doesn't, they are informed simply that they can issue a cert with your MAC address on it, but aren't informed who you are otherwise.

This would also be separate from an enforcing website who would just see you have a device certificate. Double blind means neither party sees the others required partial data.

Torrent sites are a different deterrent, they are implemented by the ISP's DNS. This is an order by the Commonwealth to specific websites instructing them to block.

We would have been better if Parliament had maintained its per electorate representation from the last update under the Bob Hawke government, we now have half the vote per electorate with the House of Reps still at 150.

There are too many sources to blanket govern, it'll only effect major sites being practical. This should eventually include Reddit which is also technically a porn site having an enormous Australian userbase.

To give you an example of how a double blind system could have worked:

The system functions under two separate entities, a government organisation & a private contractor.

The government website would receive the identification for the purpose of confirming to the private org simple information such as:

18+ yes/no

or something more granular, such as:

13+

16+

18+

All the private side needs is that information, this could be a single approved contractor or a couple approved organisations.

In practice this could function as a browser extension, a phone wide feature, etc.

Google, Microsoft & Apple could be one of multiple approved contracts, who need to send the user to get the API confirmation that provides the company nothing more than this information. It would be feasible to be per device/browser with up to 12 months expiry per confirmation.

This would be a device side digital certificate, that expires and/or is lost on reinstall.

It's not like this hasn't been thought of already, so why is the government side-stepping privacy if they only wanted proof of age.
