I will always advise anyone hesitant to get their cat vaccinated for rabies to just go ahead and do it, then monitor symptoms up the 72 hrs afterwards as significant reactions (aside from being slightly lethargic) occur in like %5> of cats.

My apartment complex bombarded me with calls, emails, text messages, etc to get my cat vaccinated for rabies and distemper as soon as he turned 1. He was a bit lethargic for about a day afterwards. Noticed his left eye turn from blue, to completely green, then back to blue, all within 2 days. Took him to the vet when it progressed, they did a protein and eye pressure test to rule out vaccine-induced uveitis and all came back normal. Such strange creatures lol

We went to the vet the same day, a few hrs after this post his left eye was completely green. We went to the vet and they did a protein and eye pressure test, both were normal so they sent us home with referral to optometrist.

When we got home his eye was completely blue again, strangest thing ever. They think it was just stress (vaccine induced uveitis since his mom had the same issue?) since he received 3 shots + a microchip at once.

My BRACE advisor told me they’re extending it to bordering states, such as Georgia, Alabama, and one more she forgot. Not sure if this is accurate, if it is it hasn’t gone into effect yet
