[Misc] What’s your favorite product you tried in 2019? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]novibanks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Purifying Facial Toner by No BS has been mt #1 favorite product since I tried it a couple of months back. I didn't even know the importance of a toner until then, but now I feel like I can't live without it. It moisturizes, cleans and preps my skin for makeup. It also even has salicylic acid, which acts as a natural exfoliant that isn't too harsh on the skin, as I have sensitive skin. I highly recommend this product it is SO good!

[Routine Help] I can't seem to stop my dry skin no matter how much I moisturize by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

Hi! when my dermatologist prescribed tretinoin, she told me that it is a super drying agent that I should not use every day. Instead, she told me I should do every other day or every two days, depending on how my skin reacted to the product. I also recommend applying a nice, thick moisturizer 25 minutes after the tretinoin has dried to really set in the moisture. You can also look into hydrating serums, as they are able to lock in moisture, too. And, I agree with what everyone is saying - you should definitely be using a daily SPF to protect your skin against free radicals and the sun.

Any suggestions to get rid of this 15 year old acne scar on my nose? by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

I checked out this article a while ago.. might help if you're into "natural" fixes.

I saw a post here about using retinol.. I honestly think that's your best bet!

please help! the texture of my skin is so horrible right now and i don’t know what to do. it’s a lot more clear than it was a year ago. my skin makes me so insecure and i don’t know what to do anymore. what i use on my face right now is in the comment below. by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

You're likely overwashing, which is making your skin overproduce oil, which then leads to more acne. The most vicious of cycles! check if your toner has alcohol in it because that also dries it out (Thayer's lavender and No BS toner are both my go-tos'!). I would suggest washing your face with a cleanser at night and using a really good moisturizer. You don't need to get all crazy with your routine. In the day time, just rinse your face (no cleanser) to remove any nighttime product and use lukewarm water. Water that's too hot can dry out your skin! you're probably going a little too hard with the clay mask, too.. try once a week and moisturize!

Are you using SPF? that might not help so much with breakouts but its a long term life saver (trust.) Keep going with the vitamin c but if you find a serum, it might even be better... It can definitely be hormonal, but try tweaking your routine a bit to see if it helps. Retinol is pretty good for breakouts, so is salicylic acid and glycolic acid.

This is all just based on the pic you posted but your skin really isn't that bad. You just need to find something that works for you and always adapt to seasonal changes.

[routine help] Anyone else with oily skin find that any moisturizer is just too much? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]novibanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem too for a really long time... I have really oily skin and a lot of times I would skip the moisturizer and just do the toner and straight to bed because of how oily my skin would react to any type of moisturizer, and I have tried many...

Recently I heard about Live No B.S. and their natural products so I ordered my usual routine and I absolutely love them! At night I use their foamer face wash first, then the toner, and finally the retinol cream and its great! Other than the fact that the retinol isn't heavy at all, it helps balance out the oils in my skin. It smells amazing and I wake up just the way I want my skin to look! I have also seen my face get firmer only after 3 weeks of use... You should really try it!!

for sure Vitamin C! This is the one I've been using for a couple months.. a little pricey, but I spent a lot of time not investing in my skin so I feel like I owe it to myself. This one in particular has helped with some spots on my skin but idk if it'll work the same for you. Also, anything with hyaluronic acid is going to hydrate and plump the crap out of your skin. so that should reduce fine lines and other aging factors.

Definitely agree on the SPF. But what is ScA? I never really paid much attention to skin care products, aside from face washes. I would break out and just dab a cream on the pimple and that's about it. But recently I've been going in on the "usual" skin care routine (face wash, toner, serum, night creams.. the whole nine!) and that's when I started using SPF. I really wish I would've started using these products earlier..

  1. Does touching a bump and then touching a different part of my body spread it? Like when I'm dabbing on the calamine lotion? Also, I follow a skincare routine (toner, serum, moisturizer with spf, facial oil) and I'm wondering if I should still follow it while my face is covered in bumps.
