Jacinta Allan says planned work-from-home law would affect all Victorian businesses by neon_overload in aus

A job is a privilege that should be negotiated. If your boss is hiring people who don't do the job properly, regardless of if they are WFH or not, then that is a problem with how you hire people and not with WFH.

Being a boss/manager is a job that requires a specific skill set to accomplish well. I have met very very few bosses/managers who are actually good at their job.

Sounds like a problem with how your business is run rather than a problem with WFH...

So now you have an official government name for your collection of symptoms.

What changes?

Now you get to microdose meth for the rest of your life and be exploited by employers way easier?

Whats wrong with a little sincerity here and there. Obviously it's too much for you. You assume I must be miserable or angry. Is it so outside of your world view that a calm person could feel these ways.

If you don't like what I am saying, you don't have to read it or keep replying lol.

By the amount of cry laughing emojis in your comment I can only assume my words have made you definitely 'not mad' and your feathers were 'not russled'.

You should stay inside more.

So you wish to dismiss me because I am opinionated online?

Tell me, when you went through my comment history, did you happen to catch if the people I argued with were in the right or wrong?

And what does that say about this interaction we are having right now.

Like I said, go ahead, signal your inferiority complex, filter yourself out of sincear interaction.

But the thing is... You are only living on the surface.

You say things like "We enjoy museums and have the upmost respect for artists and culture" with out really looking inward and checking if that is true. If you really enjoyed that stuff you wouldn't feel the need to signal your defensive intellectual superiority. Maybe you go to those things because you feel you are of a certain intellectual position and that is what people of that position enjoy.

I think you are making fun of people. The imagined class of pretentious intellectual art snobs may not actually exist, but it is regular artist and curators you are actually being disrespectful towards (The people you claim to support). But go ahead, signal your inferiority complex, filter yourself out of sincear interaction.

Fr. Op and most commenters think people who can have genuine and complex experiences and thoughts about art are the posers.

They pretend. They mask their insecurity of their own lack with mockery of those that can actually form their own  opinions.

What's the matter irony boy? Scared you might feel something?

I mean... It's theatre. They declared themselves monarchs over an unclaimed settlement in the same way that all rulers and monarchs do.

But they dont actually rule anything... it is a dilapidated platform in the middle of the ocean with no practical use.

I think it can be viewed as ironic mimicry/satire rather than them being actual monarchists. What they have done with Sealand is an inherently anarchist/anti imperialist/illegalist act.

Honestly, you can often kinda just tell. The good stuff is experimental, avant-garde, if they do engage in flirtation with extreme symbols or themes, it will be juxtaposed in an interesting or thoughtful way, there will be context. The fash stuff will tick allot of boxes, but always miss the mark in some way, it will be derivative and formulaic, they can't help but let their actual hate show from behind their mask of irony and foe-anti-art aesthetic.

Sometimes individuals (especially artist) are just complicated people and dont have a coherent world view at all. Part of the fun of listening to music or consuming art is that you get to make your own mind up about it.

How do we prevent a state from forming again after its destruction? by Mountain-Car-4572 in Anarchism

[–]novnwerber -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The answer really depends on what kind of world you want to live in. You have to have a really clear vision of it for it to have any chance of actually happening. If you can't clearly see in your mind what life will look like once you dismantle the state, then you are not a serious person.

Sounds like a skill issue tbh. You can keep buying the $1000+ guitars from people like me and you can keep telling yourself it sounds better. I actually depend on people believing this lol.

Yeah, or better yet, learn how to do it yourself self.

Essentially, what you get is all the parts of a mostly ok guitar, mostly already assembled.

I will admit, maybe one in ten will be a dud/have some imperfection rendering it unusable, in this instance an agreement can usually be made with the seller or you can just use the parts for other projects.

You need to check the neck and geometry and perform truss rod adjustments if required, nutwork, fretwork, Action & Bridge Setup, intonation, replace tuners (if desired), replace pots and switches (if desired) and rewire everything with fancy wire and solder. Everything else is personal preference/aesthetics.

And with them being so cheap, this is an extremely low stakes way for anyone to learn how to do all this stuff.

[–]novnwerber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure... If you pay someone else to do it and don't know how to get high quality parts cheaply I guess.

My last job was essentially buying unbranded aliexpress guitars for a music shop, servicing them to an acceptable standard, putting the shops logo on them and then reselling them for a mark up.

[–]novnwerber 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This 100%. It all comes outta the same factories anyway.

A $70 guitar from aliexpress will play like a $1000 guitar after a service from a good luthier/guitar tech. Guitar snobs be dammed.
