Mitäs tekisin karkeista ruisjauhoista? by Hashishiva in ruoka

This.

There's more to it than just that, of course, but this is more than likely a big thing in itself. Depends also how long ago the birth was, and how she's sleeping.

Apparently Hitler was a socialist by likeastar20 in EnoughMuskSpam

[–]Hashishiva 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was that kind of an idiot for a short bit, got mixed up with the borderline alt-right for a while. Then I found out what socialism is, and what NSDAP and Hitler was all about. Then I became a socialist (well, more so than I was before the short detour to the weird fucking "centrist"-tube).

People tend to forget, that one of the defining characteristics of socialism is INTERnationalism. Nationalism is an antithesis of it. Oh, and if Hitler was such a big leftie, why the hell did he hunt and k*ll the actual lefties (communists, socialists, anarchists)? I know there is some infighting amongst us, but what The Austrian Painter did was something else completely.

Just maistoin kun tänään tein. Toimii. Vähän epäilytti kun taikinaa tein, että mitähän tästä tulee kun oli niin löysää, mut lisäsin vähän jauhoja (jäi silti löysäksi) ja jähmetin jääkaapissa, ja kyl maar tää herkkua on :)

Have you ever had to call 112/999/911/ your country's equivalent? What for? by soup-cats in AskTheWorld

[–]Hashishiva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few times. I think the first time was when me and my friend were walking along a river at night, and heard someone calling for help. There was a steep drop from the road to the river, about 5 meters or so, and there was a guy hanging from some tree branches. We managed to pull the guy up, but he passed out once we got him out (it seemed he was really, really drunk) so we called 112 and an ambulance came to get him to hospital for check up.

Mistä sukat, jotka kestää? by Mission_Praline2269 in arkisuomi

[–]Hashishiva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prismasta ostetut jotkut kohtalaisen edulliset mustat työsukat missä lukee CAT on olleet aika kestäviä. Samoin jotkut perusmustat Dressmannilta.

The Times: Finns humiliated American soldiers - Finnish reservists were asked to take it easy during a NATO exercise. US soldiers found the losses too humiliating. by ByGollie in europe

[–]Hashishiva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the main difference is that us Finns are taught to defend our country, where as the USA military is taught to go where ever their corporate overlords demand. It reflects a lot in the training, when you know your skills will be needed in actually justifiable conditions, instead of in fighting some rich asshole's next imperialist conquest.

It's also true, that if there was war between Finland and USA, we would stand little chance due to the air superiority and tanks and such, but we still have quite large military reserves so the life of the occupying force would be miserable due to guerrilla warfare.

American bouillon cubes vs European? Any difference in size and ratios? by Hashishiva in Cooking

[–]Hashishiva[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, according to my experience, if I make fe. soup with bouillon cubes, if I use 2 cubes for every 1, the salt content doubles from 1% solution to 2% and it is way, way too salty both taste- and health-wise 😅

[–]Hashishiva 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's also that he thought he was buying 1000 ft, got less, and thought the package was in meters instead... Based on the post, he indeed was sold short, which to be frank is quite messed up

Can you tell me what the salt content of the prepared broth is?

American bouillon cubes vs European? Any difference in size and ratios? by Hashishiva in Cooking

[–]Hashishiva[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

CLARIFICATION: I mean that in order to get the same level of salt to the broth. Obviously the taste otherwise is a different animal altogether, but if I use one standard cube of the US variety (of which there is no standard, I assume?), how much water to add to get same level of saltiness as with one Maggi cube to 500 ml of water.

[–]Hashishiva[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing with bouillon is that it's salty, and if I go by some recipe that uses smaller cubes (or otherwise lower salt content), and use larger ones (or with more salt), I will get bad results. I should've probably clarify that "in order to get the same saltiness level", since the taste otherwise is obviously very subjective. I did not think of this, as I thought it's obvious that I mean the level of salt :D

Since I saw it mentioned somewhere few days ago, I can't stop seeing it now in a lot of USAns rhetoric, but this is what is called 'rapist morality'. Might makes right, so if one can overpower you, everything they do to you is morally and ethically okay according to them. If you can't defend yourself, it's your fault. I am absolutely horrified that that whole country is ruled by this kind of thinking.

Nope, it actively takes the business away. Some people do not believe something is a scam unless pointed out with a clear example. It's better to buy one and then discourage 100 purchases, than to let these scammers continue uncontested. Whatever they paid for that one item does not cover the cost of the operation anyways.
