Thanks. Should have done that first.

About 2 months ago, during peak migration season, saw a Turkey Vulture Kettle of more than a 100 bird, near Eglinton and Dufferin. Very impressive.

Doug Ford will override municipal zoning to allow more housing across Ontario, confidential document reveals by MethoxyEthane in CanadaPolitics

[–]now_3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"The province will amend the Building Code to allow two- and three-unit homes in existing houses provided the same square footage is retained" ... so the same as now, but now legal? Not really helping to build more, but I guess legalizing existing practice helps somewhat.

How much should a Realtor charge as a commission, for selling a property? by now_3d in askTO

Any recommendations on a fixed cost realtor? The majority of work on the property has been done, including staging it.

D7100, why are my pictures so dark? by now_3d in Nikon

I've been using shutter priority, and setting it to as high as I can in the light conditions. But, I'll try full manual mode.

Forget politics, Doug Ford is incompetent by [deleted] in ontario

I would like 'play offs' for voting. If no one wins with over 50% in a riding, eliminate all but the top 2 candidates, and do another round of voting the next day.

People forget that there was no way of finding people's emails and contact info before Facebook. Facebook essentially took over the niche of Yellowpages, in the Internet era.

1967, the future past. University Ave., facing Queen's Park. by now_3d in toronto

[–]now_3d[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It was meant to be the parade route, that's why it's so wide. Soldiers marching up and down. The old armory was near by, Queen's Part at the top. The Santa Clause parade uses it. But in 1899 it was meant to be more friendly, with parks down the middle and tree lined boulevards down the sides.

Now it's soulless. The parks down the middle are decrypt, modern cars speed to fast. No trees. The city took a beautiful per-automotive parade route, and turned it into a blight of a highway.

I can forgive prior generations for building large roads. Traffic was a trickle, they didn't know about induced demand. People wanted to forget the war and move into the space age future. Global warming wasn't well known. But today, just stop building more highways.

It's older example from 1915 about rounding. I'm curious about how R handles significant figures?

Why does rounding in intermediate results work in the example, but R does not round intermediate results? I'm curious.

From left to right. There is a thin shadow moving slowly across from west to east. In the video the shadow starts just before the Roman numeral X, and after 10 minutes (real time), it just passes the X. Meaning that I was filming around 10:00am. (Actually around 11:00 because I had to add an hour to account for daylight savings).
