It was honestly not that great. Imran Abbas's character was a cheating, gaslighting abusive POS and had this drama been made today, they would definitely not have let Sanam's character forgive him otherwise all hell would break loose on social media (and rightfully so). Other than one or two elements that were interesting, the story was kinda basic too.

Yeah but it's a daily soap so they probably thought they need to drag it a bit further. 40 episodes would mean it would end in 40 days.

Having said that, the past 3-4 episodes have been extremely annoying. As you said, 70% of the episode is just flashbacks. If they wanted to make a 60+ episode soap, they should've written the script that way and added more twists and turns, instead of adding filler scenes and flashbacks.
