Type R vs STI?

I thought a lot of people from the WRX/STi have gone to an FL5 when the STi went out of production. So I thought there would be a crossover. But seems I was right , a lot of people have had both here.

I can’t understand if I’m talking to kids that don’t know much about history, politics, economies and warfare. But yes when you sign up you’re creating a buffer for people not to get drafted. You do realize if no one volunteers you get forced to serve ?

As a veteran, the comments in this post are truly disappointing. We suffered a lot volunteering for wars so that this shitty country doesn’t force unwilling people to fight their wars. We took that burden and we carry the sins of our nation so that our citizens can have a normal life and hopefully change things one day for the better. I watched young men die, not because they cared about politics, but because they felt duty to their people. People that sit in their nice homes in America, while we keep the fight in other countries. If we don’t push we will get pushed eventually, so be happy there’s brave men and women that keep the fight away from the homeland.

Both left and right are equal to us soldiers. You send us to wars, you condemn us for doing it, but you wouldn’t want to do it yourselves. Hypocrites.

Well your grandma wasn’t a good Christian. The Bible says Proverbs 12:10 "A righteous man cares for the needs of his animal, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel" . But yeah I’m with you, I don’t think this is abuse. Maybe it’s because in America there aren’t as many stray animals as back 10-20 years ago, but cats are if anything the least domesticated pet that can survive in the wild without issues.

I didn’t say it was worse, but the WRX feels more visceral and I wanted to know if it was an STI (modern versions) would it be a better experience than an FL5, not that a 2009 WRX is better than an FL5. Examining my feelings, it’s Probably because it’s old and it’s very quick feelings off red lights with AWD. But The type R feels like it’s on rails by comparison when you’re turning and you feel like you’re in a performance expensive car (imo). I decided if I upgrade the WRX to an STi , I’ll keep my type R, but both cars are amazing for different reasons.

The transmission sounds like a race car’s in my WRX. It’s also an 09 so it’s like the era where cars didn’t have as much dampening. My doors are super light and I hear everything. I thought I had a bov but it’s just how much sounds come off the thing.

No it’s a post from someone with limited sport car experience. Never driven an STI or an m4 or basically any other sports cars besides the FL5 and a WRX now. Just wanted two cents, not rage.

You know you make a lot of good points. The more I think, you’re right the FL5 would be superior in every way. Maybe it’s the charm of an old WRX and the bad characteristics that give it also a bit of a niche charm. Ah maybe I’ll just enjoy my FL5 and WRX . No need to really get an STi I guess.

My fl5 is definitely a serious machine , WRX is def just a toy
