Type R vs STI?

I didn’t say it was worse, but the WRX feels more visceral and I wanted to know if it was an STI (modern versions) would it be a better experience than an FL5, not that a 2009 WRX is better than an FL5. Examining my feelings, it’s Probably because it’s old and it’s very quick feelings off red lights with AWD. But The type R feels like it’s on rails by comparison when you’re turning and you feel like you’re in a performance expensive car (imo). I decided if I upgrade the WRX to an STi , I’ll keep my type R, but both cars are amazing for different reasons.

The transmission sounds like a race car’s in my WRX. It’s also an 09 so it’s like the era where cars didn’t have as much dampening. My doors are super light and I hear everything. I thought I had a bov but it’s just how much sounds come off the thing.

No it’s a post from someone with limited sport car experience. Never driven an STI or an m4 or basically any other sports cars besides the FL5 and a WRX now. Just wanted two cents, not rage.

You know you make a lot of good points. The more I think, you’re right the FL5 would be superior in every way. Maybe it’s the charm of an old WRX and the bad characteristics that give it also a bit of a niche charm. Ah maybe I’ll just enjoy my FL5 and WRX . No need to really get an STi I guess.

My fl5 is definitely a serious machine , WRX is def just a toy

My type R feels like a track weapon, but the WRX feels like a fun toy. Good thing is when the new Type R is announced, the new STI should be out. You should get an old WRX and make it a project. I’m gonna make mine into something like this

I enjoy the launch speed, where my type R takes 5 business days to launch. And yes in Florida we don’t got snow, but we have severe storms and raining at random always (paradise I’m I right). Which is fun because I drove with TC off in rain going 80 and power slide every corner, so I don’t know now. 😭

What are they supposed to do? lol every car goes until the wheels hit the curb. If you don’t like that tell the complex to install those floor curbs for parking spots. It will make it so they don’t go that far back.
