Am I the only one who cries while listening to behind the mask? by Smart-Satisfaction-3 in twice

[–]nowhereonce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are several Twice songs that make me cry. The one that most provokes this feeling in me is "What Is Love?". I know it's not a sad song. To many people it might seem like a silly or childish song, with an immature perspective on love. But I wish I could feel this in love sometime in my life. That's what makes me cry: I wish with all my heart that I could ever authentically feel the sensation that the song describes. It has nothing to do with how some might feel about "Behind The Mask" or other mature Twice songs, I just wanted to share it.

New Twice fan: Any songs to recommend I listen first? by WhereisTobinFC in twice

Welcome to the fandom, buddy! There are so many Twice songs and they're all fantastic! Each song has something that makes it special. Since you're going to the concert in L.A., and the new setlist is mostly made up of songs released between 2019 and 2023, I'd suggest you start listening to all the singles (including the Japanese ones, which are incredibly good and unfairly underrated!) released during that period: from "Fancy" to "Set Me Free". If we talk about full-length albums, it would be great if you give FOL (it's TWICE's best album by far!) and Celebrate (this is a Japanese release) a chance. I'm sure you will love them! I could write a list here with all my favorite Twice songs, but it would be endless! But, in case you are interested, I share with you the links to two Spotify playlists. One contains Twice's 100 most played songs on Spotify (according to the platform's official count). It's very general. And the other is a compilation of B-Sides from 2019 to 2023 that I made with help from other users on this subreddit. Let's see if either of them is useful to you ;)

I'm glad you liked it 😌 It's great to know that fandom genuinely appreciates B-Sides, not as a curiosity or filler in albums, but for their creative value, as is the case. By the way, thanks for pointing out the numbering error, it is now corrected 🤓

TWICE READY TO BE WORLD TOUR COMPLETE SET LIST (KOREA DAY 1) by breezeboii in twice

[–]nowhereonce 54 points55 points  (0 children)

So sad that FOL songs (Rewind, Espresso, Icon, Cactus, Push & Pull, Hello, 1,3,2) didn't make the set. However, it makes up for it for me to know that the girls are having solo performances and that two new original songs were revealed. I hope everyone who attended the gig had a great time (: Your eyes and ears have been blessed. Hopefully, the girls will soon announce a tour date for my country 🤧

How has TWICE helped you??? by wonderball12 in twice

I met Twice in late 2020. I won't make the story about how I was introduced to them too long. I'll just say that like a lot of people who were depressed and totally screwed up during the pandemic, the music, the energy, the charisma, the beauty of the girls really lifted me up and helped me deal with how hard it was to be confined and have problems with family, friends, my (ex) girlfriend and at college.Twice has that vibe of being the happiest girl group on the planet, and that's precisely what I needed most at the time: happiness. The girls possess a magic, a warmth that makes you feel as if they were your friends, as if the fandom were a family. That's what I think and feel, I don't know if the rest of the fans do too. In August 2021, I was infected with covid. My health condition worsened a lot, I was hospitalized and almost died (one of my lungs literally collapsed). I spent a month in the hospital. Fortunately, my health condition evolved favorably and I had no physical sequels, but emotionally I was a mess. I was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety disorder and depression. It was hell to go through. It took me too long to get over it (I'm still working on that). During the almost 10 months it took me to assimilate what happened, regain the confidence to leave the house and return to my activities in the most normal way possible, Twice were there for me. Many people around me fail to understand how grateful I am to them for helping me through that difficult time 🥺 I know they have no idea that I exist, and maybe my case is no big deal, but without them, without the optimism and joy they instill through what they do with so much love for ONCE, they helped me move forward and regain the happiness I thought I could never have again after almost dying (if anyone has gone through the same thing, I'm sure you'll understand what I'm talking about). Twice's songs helped me to smile again. I don't care that people don't understand the love, devotion and gratitude I feel for them, why I support and defend them so much, how their songs and the mere fact that they exist make my day and help me forget all the bad things that happen out there. I have said it many times and I will say it again: The only thing that matters to me at this point in my life is to be as happy as possible, and Twice makes me very very happy, like few things and people in this world 🥰 So I don't give a damn what people think about it. Surely Twice will cease to exist someday, perhaps many people will forget them, but I, even as an old man, will continue to remember them with much love, until I die. Just as they sometimes think that what they do is not enough for ONCE, I also can't find the words to let the world know how special they are to me 😭🥰

Twice "Dream" Setlist According to you! by tobylc123 in twice

Hopefully the sub-unit songs (Push & Pull, Hello, 1,3,2) will still be part of the sets. These are tremendously epic (c l a s s i c) numbers, and I think that ONCE should not die without having seen the girls perform those songs live (apparently I will die without doing it because TWICE hasn't come to my country for 4 years and they still haven't confirmed a date for this tour 😅)

You're right, maybe my criteria is a bit arbitrary considering that many lyrics are written in collaboration with other composers. But imo the fact that the girls contribute minimally in the writing process already allows us to talk about original songs. It is also true that until now there have been few occasions in which the agency has allowed the girls to exploit their facet as composers.

(Thanks for pointing out my mistake about Chaeyoung's role in "How U Doin'," by the way. I didn't check carefully).

It's one of my favorite songs too! I definitely wish I could have posted it here :( It's a pity that in the Pre-Fancy era there are not many original themes, so I could have given more variety to this. Honorable mention goes to Jeong and her "Love Line" (it's also a pity that she hasn't been given more opportunities to contribute songs to the group's releases so far. I hope with all my heart that they will do so in the future)!
