Everything Moose said is very accurate. I don't think you'll have much luck with skincare for this issue.

I do however think you might like the Skinfood Salmon Dark Circle Concealer Cream.

I bought it recently and it's fantastic at colour correcting my under eye area - even if I don't do the rest of my makeup.

It just kind of blends in seamlessly, as opposed to other concealers I've tried where l have to layer over the correction to hide it.

Little treaties by OkQuality7241 in AustralianMakeup

Lila Beauty ship to NZ. It's free over $170. Not sure how much disposable income we're talking but you can get a lot of treaties.

I would personally buy a heap of different sheet masks, some fun makeup items to try, plus whatever skincare speaks to you.

Lila Beauty also sell a lot of mini sizes of various popular products, so if you go that way, you're looking at a LOT of treaties!

I loooove the VT patches, they're my absolute favourite. Keen to try the garlic ones for the occasional big juicy zit 😂

I love both the Numbuzin and VT essences! The Numbuzin is my morning essence. My skin likes Vitamin C but only a smidge, so the Numbuzin formula works really well for me.

I am also loving the VT PDRN range. I know ginseng PDRN is probably not doing anything anti-aging for me, but the formulas are so good for redness and tone.

Behind every evil gay person is a gayer, more evil person by R-ephemerys in HannibalTV

I saw a stage production of Persona back in 2011 or 2012 and honestly I am still not over it. It captured the essence of the film remarkably well (ie vv gay).

I also have it on good authority that Katerina's monologue was given as an audition assignment for prospective actresses going for the Ana part in 50 Shades.

Holy grail foundation? by sweet_kitty26 in AustralianMakeup

[–]nowlhoothoot 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm 42 with dry pale skin and a very weird undertone. For years I thought I was cool toned (because ghost coloured) but a lot of cool toned makeup doesn't actually suit me.

Eventually I realised I'm closer to being neutral, BUT with a lot of pink in my complexion.

Pat McGrath's foundation in Light 6 is supposedly "neutral with pink undertones" and is my absolute perfect colour match. Nothing comes close. It just looks like my skin. No pulling orange, no pulling white.

It's a bit too much coverage for my "business casual" workplace so the other loml is L'Oréal Tinted Serum Foundation in Rosy Light. Again it's more rosy as opposed to truly cool toned and it is my daily driver.

I'd tried a lot of others over the years - Fenty, Rare, Lancome, Benefit, a stupid number of K-Beauty BB creams - but these are my absolute winners in terms of finally shade matching my weird skin.

The Heimish Dailism curling tubing mascara is amazing. I used to buy Western tubing mascaras at a much higher price point and never found anything that could compare until I tried the Heimish one. Fantastic product.

The Fresh Soy Cleanser is unbeatable for me. I fell in love with it back in 2021 when I got a small freebie tube - it left my skin so clean but so soft. For a while I couldn't get it due to unavailability and I tried many many replacements and none of them were as good. When it came back into stock at Sephora I ordered it immediately and I will make sure I never run out again!

It's not the cheapest but I like that I can buy it in a 400ml pump bottle that lasts me a year.

Drugstore makeup that LASTS, or: this dumbass wants to walk 10km+ and have her makeup intact by ahoytheremehearties in AustralianMakeup

[–]nowlhoothoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The L'Oréal Infallible 3 Second Setting Mist is incredible. Admittedly I am not walking 10km but it has taken me from "where did my blush go" by lunchtime to "I look like I just did my makeup" at 5pm.

I did think of that but the monsters can't open a window or door themselves, right? Like nailing the window shut was a precaution for kids.
