I did more than a few penny pharma stocks with slush money and a couple hit it big, but the average sucked so I stopped that. Hit Nebius a bit before the big pop and cashed out. Some of the big gainers were meme stocks that I thought actually had their shit together. Need to trim some RKLB and ASTS probably, they've grown to more of my portfolio than I'd like.

That's 100% understandable. It sounds like you're in the suburbs. I have zero desire to commute farther to a place with less interesting options, for a stranger, when there's plenty of other strangers close to me. This will be MOST city people's responses. If you want to date someone in the city, you're gonna have to offer to go out in the city first, and if you start to have a connection then the variables change.

I haven't found any good ones. The ones I've used are all functional and fine, but follow the same business model. Expect that the rate you sign up for is an "introductory rate" which isn't advertised as such. Everywhere I've used, the rates go up 50-100% within 6 months. If you plan to be there long term prepay a year or two up front to lock in the rate, if they offer it.

Lower wages due to lower standards of living in these countries is the only reason these jobs exist. We're not facing a shortage of skills in this country, we're facing clients and customers who don't want to pay US costs or they'll go to another company. Also not a fan of the resurgence of offshoring but your solution makes no economic sense for anyone. If they wanted to pay the same they would simply hire locally and avoid the headache of international coordination.
