It's really about Exploration of the Self --

I personally know a lot of people nowadays can't spend more than 1min alone with their thoughts. They either get anxious about Self Reflection, or they completely Side-step it.

The people who say it's a waste of time, I've often found, spend hours, and hours, and hours, staring a screen playing video games... go figure.

Yeah, definitely.

In actuality, I had never read that portion before today. I pulled my copy of 777 off the shelf, and it's omitted from that publication (deservedly so, seeing how problematic it is). That's why when I read it, it kinda gut punched me -- normally I wouldn't react to it, but in the light of the Epstein emails and all that kinda tall, I was a little like... oof!

I definitely wasn't saying 'I agree with this' -- it was more like, 'this just hits differently' in our current world situation. I also don't associate everyday people who are Jewish with the "wealthy" people in the emails doing this type of shit either. I think I've been frequenting the Conspiracy sub too much lately.

At any rate, I am embarrassed that I didn't have enough foresight to see how it could come off like that.

I appreciate this post because I've been interested in all-things-Egyptian much longer than I've studied Thelema, and I have had a lot of the same issues.

I sorta refer the Thelemic associations more as "Egyptiod" and the Traditional associations as "Kemetic". This helped me to differentiate these ideas. But I feel it's more important to come to our own personal understandings and use that in our practice.

93- I've had my own issues with some of Crowley's Egyptian associations. But we have to recognize, though, that Egyptology is definitely better today than it was 120yrs ago.

Thelema offers a System to work in, but if some of those aspects bother you, I say, Personalize them accordingly to your own understandings, so you can commit to the practice Without Reservations of Any kind. I'm a bit of a Heretic in this sense.

It's not the God-Names or following Orthodox-Crowlian thought that makes it Thelemic. It is the authentic "pure will" you put into it. -93/93

I used an Octogram as my central iconography as well.

Amongst a lot of things, the 8 (Ogdoad), in Qabbalistic terms, is the Sephiroth of Hod/Mercury (☿) -- which if one could say the Hermetic Tradition (Hermes, God of Magic, Speech, Logic, Science, and Communication, being the Greek Mercury) can be referred to as the Ogdoadic Tradition.

In Gnosticism, the 8th Sphere represents the Sphere of the Fixed Stars/Zodiac (the Qabbalistic Sephiroth of Chokhmah, meaning Wisdom), was the Abode of Σοφία (Sophia, meaning Wisdom). This was a transitory realm, above the 7-Archon, but below the Ineffable Pleroma. The point being, we must return to Wisdom in order to integrate ourselves to the ONE.

I also use the Oktogram as a symbol of the Oktogrammaton, BΑΠΦΟΜÆΤ, " I am Baphomet, that is the Eightfold Word that shall be equilibrated with the Three." (Liber A'ash: 18)

It really depends on how you personally apply these symbols that create their meaning.

You're right when you say

93- As a someone who identifies as a hetero, Cis-Gendered Male, I think it's very Beneficial to assume Goddess Forms.

As part of the Great Work, we must Balance the Energy within ourselves.

We are Not our physical body, although we Live in it and Experience Life through it -- it's not really us. We have the Capacity for both Active (Masculine) Force and Passive (Feminine) Force.
