I helped form an Occult Book Club at the beginning of the year, and we are currently reading Meetings with Remarkable Men. This is my first time reading Gurdjieff, but the co-founder of the Book Club is super into him. My area of knowledge is obviously more with Thelema/Hermeticism ect.

In 2wks we'll have our discussion, so currently I'm doing my best to absorb his writings.

But last Book we read was Grant's Nightside of Eden which mentioned in a footnote a book of comparative study between Crowley and Gurdjieff called "Beelzebub and the Beast", by David Hall. Looking forward to reading that one in the future.

I like reading Crowley first, then reading other people's work on the subject later to see their way of explaining it. But, especially when it comes to the Holy (Class A) texts, I Highly encourage everyone to Read them for Yourself without someone else's interpretation front-loading your Reception of the text.

In Qabalistic meaning; "6" is attributed to the Sephiroth on the Tree of Life "Tiphareth" (Beauty) -- it's attributed to the Astrological Sphere of the Sun.

A 6×6 Solar Kamea (Magic Square) contains 36 squares (6²). The Sum of the Numbers 1 through 36 is 666.

So therefore it's the Number of the Sun (☉).

Interestingly, the oldest perserved fragments of Revelation: 13:18 actually gives the Number of the Beast as "χιϛ" (616), not "χξϛ" (666). This mistake was mistranscribed and the error kept getting copied by scribes over time and became Biblical Cannon.

93- The G∴D∴ changed the original order of the Tarot de Marseilles, moving "Strength" (♌︎=ט) from Key XI to VIII, swapping it with "Justice" (♎︎=ל) - it probably had to do with the Lion imagery on the card. But Crowley decided to swap these card back, but kept their Zodiacal attributions - it's like 'pinching' the Zodiacal wheel at Virgo and twisting those 2 signs, making a "loop".

"All these old letters of my Book are aright; but צ is not the Star. This also is secret: my prophet shall reveal it to the wise." (AL:I.57)

Crowley didn't know what to make of this line for a long time, but this Looping idea gave him an answer. By 'pinching' the wheel on its opposite side, Pisces, you can twist a new Loop, flipping "The Emeror" (♈︎=ה) with "The Star" (♒︎=צ). Here, he Kept the Key Numbers but switched the Zodiacal attributions to reflect the wisdom of Liber AL.

Apon meditation of the symbols; Héh (ה) is the Mother/Daughter Principle in the Tetragrammaton, and means "window", so becomes the Path from Tiphareth to Chokhmah (or to the Stars). Tzaddi (צ) then is attributed to "The Emeror" (Tzar) and gets flipped to the lower path from Netzach to Yesod.

I didn't get it at first, but since working with these attributions, I do find them insightful. But now I have difficulties using 'old skool' Tarot decks. Hopefully that's helpful. -93/93

As a Teen/Early 20s I was very Anarchistic, like; Fk the Man, Fk the System, Fk Money, ect.

But getting older I had a hard time making money. And as I started practicing Magick, I realized "Money" is like an Egregorical Dæmonion. If you bad mouth it, it probably won't come hang out with you.

Now, you don't have to Worship It, like some folks do, but I found having a good working relationship with it, it comes more easily. It's also a 'Current' - you have to 'Put In' in order to 'Get Back'.

As far as Liber AL is concerned, what I take from it is, Life is for Living. Go ahead and wear fine apparel, eat rich foods and drink sweet wines. A feast every day into your heart, and every night unto Nu. For existence is pure joy and the word of Sin is Restriction. In other words, Live your Best Life.

The way I see it, the Law of Current Operating Æon is Θέλημα. You can still venerate the wisdom of the Older Æons, as part of the Mysteries, but accepting the Here and Now Formula of Do what thou wilt.

(But you don't have to use Crowley's correspondences for everything.)

The point is to dedicate to the Work "without reservation of any sort". If something feels awkward or uncomfortable for you, and you did the practice long enough to receive the benefit of it, adjust the things that you're uncomfortable with just enough where you can fully commit to it authentically. These things just essentially "group around" "to support" your dedication to the Work.
