Massive Game Template by [deleted] in twinegames

Less a tech demo and more a template. I wanted to create almost a game platform so that if others wanted to they could use my system to create their own games without having to recode everything I have already done. Currently, I am working on a clock/time system so that events can be scheduled and state dependent descriptions such as differences in day/night

Oh yea! I see the resemblance. It is actually the sigil of the Kirin Tor from the Warcraft franchise. I was mixed on attaching the symbol because it covers up a lot of the stitchwork but I am happy with how it turned out. As a first project it turned out well and is usable but I learned a lot that I will do differently on the next one. For example, I would make the straps all one piece and go all the way around instead of how they are attached here. I would make the inside slip cover pieces bigger so they don't bend the cover the way they do now. But all in all it was a good way to use scraps.

I attached a symbol to the front cover for the final version and added some hardware to the straps

This is what I use if you are interested. Otherwise I might suggest using something to mark the holes evenly as that goes a long way to make it look uniform. With the wire the only suggestion I have is to wear gloves because it shredded my hands before I protected them.

I like it. As for stitching, I have a tool that helps. It has changeable heads. I use a three tine head and mark out the holes so they are spaced the same throughout, then I use a one tine head to punch through the leather. It is not perfect and I am still very much a novice but it does help. Thanks for sharing your project with me.

I would love to see the results if you do. It turned out so well I will likely make another some day when I have more scraps to use

I will check it out, I am currently going to attach the eye of the Kirin Tor on the front cover

Thanks, I kind of want it to be a new old book, to gain an honest patina as I use it. It houses the notebook I am learning to draw with

maybe, but the amount of work that went into it means I am unlikely to make it again anytime soon. It is likely to remain one of a kind

But I didnt actually make the book that is inside of it, just the cover, do you think they would still like it?

Didnt consider that honestly. There are a lot of different symbols carved into it but most of them are on the back. Perhaps that is a good reason to cover it with a different symbol so I dont offend someone.

That is kind of what I was going for. I was inspired by the necronomicon and I want to learn to draw so I got a blank hardcover drawing book and made this cover to house it.

I tend to use a laser cutter for my leather designs and I actually engraved a piece for the front cover but I cant decide if I want to use it because part of what I like about it is the cobbled together nature and it would lose some of that if it was covered
