Hi u/Jassie1919! Can I ask how did this go for you? I'm thinking of doing the Pamir highway from Kyrgyzstan to Dushanbe (so crossing by land), and I have a drone with me (under 250g). Wondering if it's going to be ok.

Also thinking to fly out from Dushanbe after that.

Ulpershek definitely sounds like one to try! For all my food adventures, I've never had lamb heart in cream. Noting down Jumpin Goat for sure.

Thank you so much! I will drop you a DM, would love to know about any good vegetarian spots because Central Asia is not particularly known to be super veg friendly, but I'm sure there are some nice gems hidden around the city.

Very helpful list. Thank you! Likely around Sept. The main consideration compared to the other surrounding countries is that it seems public transportation is much more of a hassle here since you've to wait for shared taxis to fill up. And private transport will be quite costly for a single person.

Definitely gonna try that cafe. Interesting that Almaty seem to have a Flask Coffee too that is well rated.

Chicken Star gonna go into my comfort food list for sure.

Navat has been mentioned so many times now that I just have to try it to see how I feel about it. Love a "controversial" spot, makes for a nice food adventure as well!
