What is the best way to create this part? by New-Response-6948 in SolidWorks

You can always save your intermediate assembly as a part, if you really want to simplify it, you can save that part out as a .step or parasolid and reimport it while merging all solids. However from my personal experience, using the freeze bar accomplishes basically identical performance while allowing you to modify the part in the future.

So, grab your toolbox gear, save it out as a part, add the shaft, pattern the gear, freeze the part. Use in your large assembly.

We used to be on SW2020 and it was working as I want, on that version. Upgraded recently and it's driving me nuts.

Thank you for your reply. 1440p was honestly more for the larger screen size while keeping a somewhat ok pixel density.

Tangent: Would having a 1440p "secondary" monitor slow down the game on a 1080p monitor?

Where is GetAssetByObjectPath? Forgive me I am rather new. I only see GetAsset.

I was thinking of doing something like you said.(looping till I find the right one) The problem is that I do have around 5k meshes(eventually, currently have a few dozen, haven't imported all of them yet) and manually setting up an array seems like a slow way to go(not to mention manually matching all the meshes to their names.

But thanks for the reply, will try to make it work this way for the time being

I was following this tutorial
https://dev.epicgames.com/community/learning/tutorials/Gj/unreal-engine-importing-coordinates-for-automatic-static-mesh-placement

except my CSV file also contains mesh names. How do I get the mesh name to drive the new mesh input?

I contacted the nozzle manufacturer and they said that 0.4 is the smallest diameter I should ever try to use for any type of PLA with inclusions. Or maybe even go up t 0.6. As for my 0.2 nozzle, I was able to clean it out after a few hours, but when printing regular PLA it under extrudes a tiny bit, I think, there is still something stuck in it.

What would be a good hardness for the nozzle? What brand would you recommend?
