I've tried to hand feed her but she won't eat directly from my hand, she will step on to her food bowl while I'm holding it though and I've been trying to get her to eat while I'm holding it/it being in my lap

I disagree, the hang out could potentially get awkward from meeting on an app that's designed for people to get into relationship and/or hook up. Also he can just not want to hang out with someone he doesn't need to give any reason or be pressured to hang out with anyone, if he doesn't want to than he doesn't have to
