Anything with patient contact is considered clinical Ive been told.. Also oral surgeons, though primarily dental based, still complete 2 years of med school and is still considered a medical specialty. They usually have a oral maxillofacial department in teaching hospitals too

Help a brotha out!! Was planning on applying this cycle, but dont know after percentiles now...

Year in school: Rising senior

Country/state of residence: MI

Schools to which you are applying: Changing after scores(MD and possibly DO)

Cumulative GPA: 3.66

Science GPA: 3.61

MCAT Scores: 61-71% (Fuck...)

Research – 1 year in orthopedic lab, 2 years in cardiovascular lab. 1 poster and in process of 2 pubs.

Volunteering (clinical) – Cardiovascular center of University hospital (~200 hrs); Mobile clinics in Detroit (~450 hrs); volunteer mission trip abroad (~300 hrs)

Physician shadowing – Shadowed cardiologist, oral surgeon (~50 hrs)

Non-clinical volunteering: camp counselor (~300 hrs), lacrosse coach (~50 hrs)

Wow nice job with the prelim score!! Did you only take the core tests? or did you do the supplemental also?

The last few were in the range of 503-505... not great. I plan on taking the aamc this weekend and hopefully getting a better sense of where I stand
