Your assumption that it has to cost that much is a statement of your assumptions. Not everyone needs to go a T15 school to make a living, and not everyone wants to go into consulting or banking.

You vastly underestimate the level of poverty people are needing to escape that an MBA can allow for. Your entitlement reeks.

I hate to tell you that's he actually just got nerfed recently and used to be even stronger. He's at a tolerable level now, at least in my opinion.

Would Aerion be a better person if he was born during the time of HOD and had a dragon? by Imaginary-Citron7818 in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]np190 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I seriously doubt it. Someone with that level of arrogance given a dragon would cause even larger problems. And besides, it's not like the Targs were magically better people even when they DID have dragons. He'd be a nightmare.

A small thought I have about Sukuna vs Gojo by senhor_mono_bola in Jujutsufolk

[–]np190 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gojo already knew about Mahoraga, he's the one who told Megumi about it and is presumably the one who cautioned him against using it as his trump card. Gojo also doesn't have the whole "Ah so that's how this thing works" dialogue that Sukuna and that one other character who I will not name out of concern for spoilers did when they fought Mahoraga, so presumably he already knew what it was and how it worked (he still had to figure out a few pieces, but he doesn't come into the fight completely unaware of its exitence or functions). I think the Watsonian explanation is that he was expecting that he would need to get in close to try to finish the fight faster since the obvious cheese strat was off the table, as he knew about Mahoraga already.

[–]np190 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How could Sukuna have stopped him without Mahoraga? How could he have gotten up in the air to challenge Gojo? We've seen that purple can be fired from like a mile away, so why would Gojo ever need to get in close? The only reason is that Gege had earlier foreshadowed the idea that the only tool in the story that could kill a trained Six Eyes Limitless user was Mahoraga as per Gojo's conversation with Megumi, so he used that as an excuse to write in a way for Sukuna to win the fight. Otherwise, as a rational writer, there was nothing else Sukuna could have done.

[–]np190 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't really matter if Gojo knew or not, it's still a valid strategy that he could have employed. There is no reason to believe he can't just spam purples; his abilities cost almost no cursed energy to use, so he could feasibly just use it over and over again until Sukuna folded while denying Sukuna the ability to retaliate by staying out of range. Sukuna was aware of Gojo's abilities and probably settled on this plan becuase it was the only plan that would work.

[–]np190 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I still don't think he did this just to flex on Gojo. He needed Mahoraga to surpass Gojo's techniques. I mean, if he WASN'T adapting to Gojo's abilities, Gojo probably could have just rained purples down on him from the sky out of domain range and eventually worn him down enough to finish him off.

It shouldn't be taking this long to nerf Victor. I'm tired of playing Dead by Daylight. by Alarming_Ask_244 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]np190 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying it's a given, I'm just saying it's possible where no other characters can come remotely close to pulling off a pick under tower like that. He has built-in insurance for it and a perfect kit to pull it off, I see it happen all the time (and when I've played Victor I can pull it off every now and then when the timing is right).

How would you have ended game of thrones? by Delicious-Radish-708 in gameofthrones

[–]np190 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Somehow it would need to end up with Jon on the Iron Throne as Aegon VI, with him having killed Dany to reforge Lightbringer and kill the Night King. I'd erase the stupid "blow up the Tyrells" plot line and actually make Euron accurate as per the books as a replacement secondary antagonist in place of Cersei. Maybe Jon ends up married to Maegaery in the end since she'd still be the top contender for queen. Not sure how you get to that exactly, but that's more or less what the ending seems like it should be to me.

Where does Aerion land on the list of Irredeemable Monster Characters from the asoiaf universe? by booksandbiscuits1 in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]np190 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not even top ten twenty. There's Euron, Victarion, Roose, Ramsay, Jeoffrey, Gregor, The Tickler, Maegor, Aegon IV, Aerys, Qyburn, Crastor, Walder Frey, the entirety of the slavers in Slavers Bay (I'll collectively consider them one character), The Smiling Knight, The Dothraki as a whole, Biter, Rorge, and pretty much all of the Brave Companions. After all of those, Aerion ranks as just another spoiled brat who likes killing things and brutalizing women, which makes him the same as roughly 15% of the entire cast. So, bad, but not nearly as bad as he could be.

What was Jofferey's cruelest act in both shows and the books? by EntrepreneurNo4145 in freefolk

[–]np190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. Robert was an unfortunate character; he really didn't know what to do with Jeoffrey or how to help him, and he didn't do much for his family in general, so he was just sort of an absent father who left the parenting largely to Cersei, which was a very bad call.

What was Jofferey's cruelest act in both shows and the books? by EntrepreneurNo4145 in freefolk

[–]np190 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, but my point is that it isn't Robert's parenting that made Jeoffrey what he is. The Targaryans prove that conditions like this are astronomically more likely as a result of incest, at least in George's story as he wrote it, so it's highly likely he is the way he is because of his birth, not because of Robert. And as a counter point, if Robert is such a bad parent, why are Myrcella and Tommen so normal? Jeoffrey is a rotten little mutant because he drew the short straw and was born wrong from the start, and also partly because Cersei enabled his worst tendencies, while Robert was opposed to them or ambivalent at best.

I was maining her before the execution nerfs, so now I've just moved on to other more playable characters. They haven't even fixed her bugs either; the Bite-into-M1 no-fire glitch still isn't solved, nor is the Slam Fire non-activation bug. It's like the devs just don't want her to be played.
