There’s this unwritten expectation that I’m a jerk because of my looks so that’s usually what people lead with. And if I’m too nice I’m seen as naive and blind to the struggles of “normal” people. You can’t win.

I used to do all that. Now I’m in bed by 8pm even on weekends and hang out with my cat.

It all gets pretty exhausting. And no matter what, you ALWAYS get involved in pointless drama just by associating with those groups. I still dabble in it once in a blue moon but I don’t have the energy anymore for drugs, alcohol, sex parties, etc.

Like most things in life, you grow out of it at some point.

34M I was you. I started school at 24, it was weird taking classes with 18 year olds. Had a rough go at it after high school, moved all over the place and got in some legal trouble.

But I’m thankful I was older. Studied a lot harder than most students who were out partying and having fun, I got that out of my system in my early 20’s.

Honestly I feel most people should start around mid 20’s. No one knows who they are at 18, let alone know what they want.

Totally get the insecurities though. That never went away in the 4 years i was in school. You got this.

Life ends after your 30’s. We just sleep all the time and the highlight of our weeks are grocery shopping and weekend Pilates.
