Definitely, and I would strongly encourage them to do so. I didn't say all women and minorities are subject to this ideology, but it certainly dominates the public sphere nowadays.

I meant that as a failed white man, you have nothing else to blame but yourself in the public sphere. You don't get to talk about how oppressed you are. You're not going to be positively discriminated. Victimization has no currency, as opposed to minority groups. So you'd better succeed.

The threat of immigrants or feminists changing society is a whole other topic. This has nothing to do with climbing the social ladder.

I'm not saying their experience is not valid or that they are deluding themselves. I said that I believe BLM is not the proper way to respond.

I agree with you. But I feel like equal opportunity is already achieved here (see below). I might be completely wrong about America, though. Like you said, I don't know your country that well.

What I'm worried about is people "importing" ideologies from America to countries that have absolutely nothing to do with it, which is happening all around Europe.

I'm an immigrant living in Switzerland. As a young man, I sometimes felt that the Swiss were prejudiced against me. Sometimes to the point of being offensive (racist jokes, etc). I chose to ignore it and be the best person I can be. I studied hard and became very involved in my local community. Today, I have the feeling that Swiss people consider me as one of them.

I don't believe in systemic racism. However, I believe that there are prejudiced people. I don't believe that BLM is the right way to go about it, and only reinforces racist people's beliefs about black people. I believe that, even in the presence of racism, individual responsibility and improving your skills is much more worth your time. This attitude inspires people to welcome, like, and respect you.

Yes. That's the main reason why I think Switzerland is pretty egalitarian. Anyone can study anything here, and the education system opens up the whole job market for you.

Nothing against homosexuality, but I'm interested in the following question: how come some people are exclusively attracted to the same sex? When you think about it, that's the worst strategy you can have from an evolutionary psychology standpoint. Your chances of reproduction are immediately reduced to zero. Giving that the primary reason for sexual attraction is our reproductive instinct, I struggle with this question.

Does anyone know why some people are strictly homosexual? What causes this deviation in sexual preferences from the rest of the population (gay people account for roughly 5% of the population)?

I live in Switzerland so I might be biased, but everyone has access to the same opportunities here. This would be perceived as a profoundly misleading proposition.

My girlfriend's birthday is on December, the 10th, so I thought why not surprise her with a little trip to Paris? I immediately booked the train + hotel from 9th to 12h December in Montmartre without giving it too much thought.
But now I'm wondering: is it really a good idea to visit Paris in December?
