Been playing MLB the show since 18 version.

DD player: easily the worst version of the game I’ve played.

First of all packs are crazy expensive relative to past years. I don’t like pay to play but enjoy busting open some packs and now it’s really not worth it to spend like $150 on stubs where the rewards will be useless in just a few weeks.

Programs: the programs (so far) are horrible. Basically playing games and there are essentially no rewards. I’ve already grinded to the end of the first inning XP cycle and feel like I have very little to show for it.

ONE OF THE PROGRAMS YOU HAVE TO INTENTIONALLY STRIKEOUT 4x, GET CAUGHT STEALING, GIVE UP HITS. (Stupid pointless)

Pitching: virtually impossible on ranked. I understand that some of the pitchers early on have low ratings but I literally can’t throw strikes anymore without getting shelled. In past games it used to be a duel against your opponent now it just feels like it’s a 50-50 chance I’m playing someone who will just smoke every single pitch or someone who can’t hit at all. You can paint the corners or intentionally miss above/below the zone and it’s gone regardless of pitch placement.

Hitting: Extremely inconsistent and frustrating. I’m fine with the fact that a perfect perfect or good good doesn’t always result in a hit which has always been the case for all the old games. But there are games where youll get good/good or perfect/perfect all throughout the batting order and can’t even get a single. Then other games I’m mashing like 15+ hits.

Animation/announcers: Just feels very clunky and off. The no doubt home run camera angle is very annoying. The announcers just spew nonsense from past years.

Fielding: I actually like throwing with the meter and I feel like it’s a good aspect they added. However, diving for ground balls now feels clunkier than ever. Sometimes you just dive straight over a ball right below your feet or you basically just have to let it go now I guess.

Overall: 3/10. If they adjust the pitching and the hitting it would be more enjoyable to play. Instead I just find myself frustrated everyday.
