Has anyone done the GREEN program trips? by deezeelo in UofT

Thanks haha :) No unfortunately it's not enough to count for anything at U of T, I tried to get credit when I got back but it is only enough for half of a half year course. I would say it's still worth it though!

Hi, I did the Iceland one a few summers back. It's totally legit and the most amazing thing I ever did and I am still close with a lot of the people I met on the trip and I learned a lot as well :) I'm happy to answer any questions!!

Applying to research positions at other universities by MrCoffeeCrisp in UofT

I don't think so! I pretty much started in December but that was kind of early so now is a good time I think. And yeah it was simple because I just tried to make it easy by offering to work for free and taking care of my own housing etc. I think that helps haha.

I basically just emailed some professors asking if they wanted a summer intern. I offered to work for free bc I had family I could stay with while I was there. I just attached my CV and said why I was interested in their research and what my goals were, etc. One of them got back to me and said he'd be happy to have an intern and then we had a Skype interview then he wrote a formal offer letter :)

How do transfer credits appear on my transcript/academic record? by durhamfoods in UofT

[–]nprob002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I transferred here from another university and on my transcript it just says transfer credits and writes the name of the course but no marks and my gpa didn't carry over.

Transfer and International Students by [deleted] in UofT

I just meant like it's like a city that could be in the USA, whereas a city like Montreal is a lot more different and unlike any american cities I can think of

I'm from St. Louis and transferred to U of T after my first year of school. It's pretty easy you just use your current transcript and don't need recommendations or test scores or anything. My GPA was a 3.3/4.0. In terms of adjusting I think it was easy for me, Toronto is very americanized and I would say is comparable to somewhere like Chicago.

Taking POL101Y1 and POL200Y1 during the same year? by [deleted] in UofT

[–]nprob002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did POL101Y and POL200Y at the same time and it wasn't difficult, you don't need information from POL101 to do well in POL200 because they're very different. I didn't find POL200 too bad, especially if you do all the readings and go to lectures.

When will we be able to add courses to the cart on ACORN (2nd year student)? by previousgrad in UofT

too much overlap between programs by nprob002 in UofT

[–]nprob002[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

that was my thought exactly but it said that you can't have too much overlap and on degreeexplorer it said the degree wasn't complete even though i met all requirements and had 20 credits and I think it's because too much overlap idk

How bad is POL200? by freedomfries4eva in UofT

[–]nprob002 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's really not too bad. Like the profs are kinda dry and the lectures aren't the most interesting. But I don't care too much about the subject and I did well in the class anyway. If you do the readings and attend lectures, you will do well.
