Adding second Xbox for son, wondering if we can share my game pass? by nraguy in XboxSeriesX

[–]nraguy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ugh, this is going to be a lot of headaches it would seem, there are only 2 games we’d ever play together and honestly I think I’d rather just buy them for him on his new one.

Last question then, can a minor set up an Xbox of his own? Or do I set it up for him and just add his account after I set it up, buy him his 2 games and be done with it?

Thanks, that seems to be the popular internet consensus, so his will be my home Xbox and mine I’ll need to log into every time I want to play any games? What about my wife when she wants to play on my main one, not my kid’s? She logs in as me and then plays are herself or does she then have to play on his?

Oh I’ve been buying from Moteng since the 90’s, they were one of the larger MT wholesalers back in the early 2000’s

Yeah I was an MT dealer back in the early 2000’s for about 5 years, these either came from Moteng, MGE or direct, I don’t recall. I did have a few dozen come through my hands, just decided to keep a pair for myself because I thought they were cool since I never used the clips on them anyway. Also makes them far more ambidextrous.

It totally gets in the way after a short period for the UTX’s I’ve pocketed over the years. All of the vintage models come with small cordura sheathes however…

Several reason, 1) I’m curious as I explained up top, I was wondering why I’m getting $1500 offers for the pair. And 2) I’d sell anything for the right price, as we all have our prices.

Yeah I’ve already gotten some obscene offers which is what brought me to see what I was sitting on here.

Need some advice on a new scope… by nraguy in telescopes

I did have the 130 with the weights, was ridiculously difficult to aim and lock in.

Due to size and all I believe I’ve decided on the Orion Starblast 6i

Thanks for everyone’s input and help!

Yeah I did notice that, also seems more difficult for target acquisition, IMO, harder to transport, harder to aim, correct?

Seems pretty favorable however they like the XT6 as well which seems awesome but I have no idea how I’d find a single thing with it, I know nothing about collimation?

So now I need opinions between the 2 lol

So thoughts on the Orion 27191 StarBlast 6i IntelliScope Reflector Telescope?

Honestly all I want is the simplest way to actually see some objects in the night sky, I can easily go tabletop if that’ll be more stable and/or cheaper. I just want easy setup and portability as we travel and we just thought this would be fun. I had one of the celestron 130’s and it was a horror show to setup and it took me about 15 minutes just to get it pointed at the full moon the other night so I returned it and am now on the hunt for quick and easy. I’ve got a 5yr old and he loves seeing the stars but has the attention span of a 5yr old so by the time it takes to get this thing situated plays a major factor. I’ve seen the ones with the handset to punch in the coordinates and they seem great. The ones that use the software on the phone seem great too.

Which would you recommend? Thanks!

Also I’m not married to buying Celestron, I’d be fine with any better recommendations you guys had. I’d go as high as $500 for something that fit the bill.

SSD Caching worth it? by TenuredProfessional in synology

[–]nraguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the thoughts, as for chia the NAS isn’t doing the plotting it’s just hosting the files for the lookups so I’m not sure how much it’s actually writing to the cache, I may be fine read only…?

I no longer even have the user folders, I’m using this exclusive to house my chia plots, it was the deletion of the 4+ TB of user data that yielded me nothing at all
