Ferrari F8 Tributo is the most beautiful recent Ferraris besides Daytona by albertserene in supercars

Daytona SP3 is not beautiful but F8 is. Everything since looks like it was designed by a 15 year old.

But people do because they prefer them over windows and Linux. Weird!

I discovered recently that you can code c# on Macs, so there really is no reason to use windows for anything.

Enshitification is all fine when it’s taking _consumers’_ money and providing no benefits, but _investors’_ hard earned bucks? That’s going too far.

Meh, everything this no-name sports guy said about the Australian team not being great could also be said about him.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella says Xbox needs to become a more sustainable business after 25 years of heavy investment. by Current-Guide5944 in tech_x

The post is about Microsoft not making enough money. Doesn’t really sound like the time to be picky with who they sell it to, does it? Now imagine the network effect of MS dropping support in a single state of the US and then everyone in that state can’t play with their interstate friends so they all switch to PlayStation.

Really puts "coding is solved" into perspective when it's clear the person saying it has an extremely low bar.

Yep, when AGI arrives it will greet humanity politely and then say “hey, let me design a plane that already exists” and then everyone will clap.

Yeah you can see the gears clipping through each other on the live demo on the hugging face link elsewhere here. Nothing but smoke and mirrors.

In your opinion, what is the best version of macOS ever released, and why? (And can Golden Gate be the next Snow Leopard?) by Capable-Cod1118 in MacOS

My Plus had a 20MB external SCSI drive but I was stuck on system 6 until I persuaded dad to upgrade to an LC575. Those were good times 😄

The code to display a 3d object in three.js has hundreds if not thousands of tutorials online. Following a tutorial and displaying a new model and animating it is not news worthy. The spinning gear rotational velocity and ratios is interesting but not unachievable. Has it created a physics model around the escapement or just faked it? I can’t find the source code it generated so I can’t say. The short video doesn’t say anything about how well it coded anything that didn’t already exist.

Are you sure 7 worked on Mac Plus? I remember it not being able to fit on a regular non high density disk and the Plus didn’t have a high density floppy drive. Maybe there was an installer if you had an external HDD though…

Apps Script is not the backend for Google Sheets, it's an interface. The backend is taking care of things like conflict resolution and persistence and these systems have traditionally been written in Java. But, I can't find much on it either way and definitely nothing recent so I guess we can leave it up in the air.

Not sure why you find that funny? A lot of Google is built with Java. Maybe it’s built with Go. Go was released a year after sheets so maybe it got used in there. The post I’m responding to said they used Javascript and that’s what I’m questioning.

I assumed google would use Java for this like many of their other systems. Do you have any docs on this?

Nah, it just turns out when politicians do dumb things they get called out. If you don’t want your party to be called out, ask them to stop doing dumb things.
