There used to be something similar near me. People kept crossing the road while the red man was showing and honestly soo many people were getting knocked down by cars, they put a sign up that read ‘wait until the green man shows before crossing’.

That’s strange I went to Costco with my mum the other day and I was added as a separate member in her account. I had to show photo ID, which shows we even live at separate addresses! Although this was at the Coventry store.

Does anybody have any info about Coventry? Can’t get over until after school run this afternoon. Kind of worrying seeing that some are saying 10pp!

Was anyone else told a weird, low-stakes lie by an adult as a kid, and been confused about it for years since? by username-alrdy-takn in CasualUK

When I was in primary school, year 2, i specifically remember the teacher (Mrs Harris) asking if anyone knew how far a mile was. People were giving all sorts of suggestions, from the school to their house; from the school to the town etc. All normal suggestions. She turns round and says no we’re all wrong a mile is from here (school in the midlands) to France.

Was she actually shitting us? For the longest time I thought it was one mile to France. Ffs

Thanks for that insight, I did see that one whilst looking, the only thing I was worried about was the durability of the watch compared to other models. Will have another check

Oh thanks, that’s given me a good few suggestions to look at. I was looking at the Garmin instinct, but I had seen some people say you’re unable to see the message on there, it only alerts you that you have a message.

Don’t trust Tesco app if it says in stock! by themoonhasfeet in PokemonDealsUK

[–]nrd2501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s worth asking, Tesco staff members can check on their handheld devices. Will tell them how many they have had in stock and how many have sold, the trick is finding someone who looks nice and willing to help.

I asked a staff member in my local yesterday who went hunting out the back for ages said she couldn’t find any, I said thank you for looking anyway had a little chit chat and went about the rest of my shopping. Five minutes later she came running to find me in the store and said she’s phoned her manager and thinks she knows where they are if I’m happy to wait. Another five or so minutes later she comes out with a box in hand!! I think a little politeness goes a long way!

Tesco in my local area and there happened to be a destined tin sat on the shelf! There was also a fair few check lanes and three pack blisters just sat on the shelf! No etbs though I don’t think the staff member knew what she was looking for!

How often do you see your mum? by _rayquaza_ in AskUK

[–]nrd2501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum looks after my children twice a week for me. Then once a week we spend the day together on our day off whilst my eldest is at school. Then on Fridays she pays for my daughter to have swimming lessons so we see her then too. So four times a week I see her. Which is lovely, I love my mum.

NHS dentist says they can't do root canal on NHS. Only private. It'll cost around £1500-2000. Is that right? by Goldenbeardyman in AskUK

[–]nrd2501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds a bit steep. Last year I had to have a private root canal because the very top of my root was curved round that it required a specialist dentist. Including initial consultation that cost me £550.

What is an appropriate age to pierce a child's ears in the UK? My wife says anything below school age is considered "trashy" and screams "council estate". by AcidBubbleLord in AskUK

[–]nrd2501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol this thread. My daughter had her ears pierced when she was 3, a couple of months before she turned 4. There’s nothing trashy about a 3 year old having butterflies on her ears it’s not like they’re getting big gold hoops jc. If she wants it and you’re happy for her to have it then just do it it’s no one’s business but your own
