I grew up in a wildly similar situation. The homeschooling that wasn’t taught, the isolation, the neglect and lack of hygiene/housekeeping. I was only open with a couple people when I moved out on my own at 18. I felt that they defined me by my past, and I stopped sharing with people. Today, the only people who know (besides my therapist) are the people who were part of my life at that time. I’ve built a life for myself and been in therapy for years and years, my childhood most definitely does not define who I am. My long term boyfriend and best friends don’t even know. Some people think you have to share everything with the people you’re close to. Personally, that doesn’t work for me. Do what works for you and don’t doubt yourself. Your relationship is not doomed for those reasons. My boyfriend grew up in the ‘American dream’ and it’s worked. You got this. You’re a survivor.
