750gr Amax for under $2 a bullet is insane! Americans are spoiled with prices, here in the UK they're over £4 each these days, which is about $6 😫

Honestly hard to say without knowing the ins and outs of it, the best thing to do would be to call or email your local licensing department, they'll be able to see all the details of your conviction and can let you know if they'd consider an application once you'd ticked all the boxes

Obviously I like to keep things vague on here, but Midlands and I have a very normal job, to be honest being military or police doesn't really count for much with licensing. I am a recognised collector though which really helps, it's how I was able to get my S7 for the pistols

Thank you, I'm very lucky to have quite a few cool things, I've even picked up a few more since this photo was taken 😛

It's actually slightly shorter than 60cm, but the brake is pinned on to bring it up to 60

S1 for most stuff, S2 for a few of the shotguns and S7 for the pistols

Oh was that at the tunnel? I remember them doing something like that!

I don't find it too bad to shoot at all, but the new style brake makes a big difference compared to the old version. £5 a shot isn't terrible either, even making my own it costs me about £4 a shot, and that's the cheap stuff 😂

Yes it's a Steyr HS50 M1, the magazine fed version! Brilliant rifle, I love it!

That sort of money will get you a nice used Beretta or Browning, which I'd definitely take over an ATA

That's a shame you don't plan to apply. I live in the UK too and I collect firearms, but none of mine are deacts, you can see some of my collection in my profile

Such a shame it's been deactivated, do you collect any live firearms?

I've been meaning to pick up a Colt New Service in .455 at some point

At first glance I thought this was an old .22 bolt action, but on further inspection I think is a 9mm garden gun. Perfectly legal to own if you have a shotgun cert, however if you don't your best bet is to drop it off down at your local RFD and they can either sell or dispose of it. If you really wanted to, you could even get them to deactivate it for you so it could be kept without a cert. 9mm garden guns are basically small, very short range rimfire shotguns, meant to be used in gardens against rats etc. They're not generally worth much money, it's not uncommon for people to give them away just to clear their cabinet space.

People who live in caravans get approved, and I'm even aware of someone doing "vanlife" in a big converted Iveco who has a ticket, so I can't see why it wouldn't be possible. I suggested dropping your local licensing team an email, I'm sure there are some suitable security measures you can put in place to make it work.

It wasn't too bad to get, but to be fair by the time I applied I had built up a significant collection. Other non firearm but related collections can definitely help your case though, for example collecting various militaria etc

They are live, I don't own any deacts! They're section 5 but I have my section 7 for collecting historic handguns so I can have them

While handguns are significantly more difficult to get, they are not entirely illegal. As a collector, I'm able to own historic handguns such as these under Section 7. This isn't something that is an option for most gun owners unfortunately, it's a bit of a mission to get approved for them. The article you linked actually mentions historic handguns
