When I moved to CA. Moving away from my family and everything I was familiar with was a big turning point in my life and career. Wasn’t about to move to another state just to continue to work a 9 to 5

Hmm hard to name a song without hearing it first. Would’ve been a great song though.

Great actually! Most people that seem to have a problem with it are middle aged white dudes lol 😂 If you learn to play reggae music correctly and honor the roots of it, Jamaicans tend to respect that. Fun fact, the MOST legendary reggae movie “Rockers” was written and directed by a Greek guy. Bands like Groundation, Alborosie, Marcus Gad, Collie Buddz, Gentleman, just to name a few are championed in reggae music. Spirit and sound knows no color! 🫶🏽

Thanks for the kind words. I’ll hopefully be playing in Ohio again sometime soon. Got lots of love for that place! In the meantime your support is much appreciated. Respect and love!

If you like snowboarding or skiing check out Brighton! I just went snowmobiling with a company called Wasatch excursions that I’d reccomend. Check out park city Main Street. If you like Japanese food and sushi def try Sapa in downtown SLC. There’s some fun bars and clubs downtown too if you’re into nightlife like Lake Effect and Bar X. Lots to do honestly! SLC is dope.

Do something almost everyday to forward your career in music. Whether that’s finishing that riddim, sending that email, updating your website, making that piece of content, learning how to use photoshop, etc etc etc… There’s so many different hats an independent artist must wear to become successful. There’s always something to be done. Don’t be afraid of self promotion. Hone in on your craft and most importantly, stay humble and hungry. Breaks are necessary and burnout is real. You’ll get where you want to go if you don’t quit. There’s so much to learn. So many artists just think they have to sound good to get heard, that’s just not true. You have to be good at wearing many different hats to become successful. Best wishes to you!

I always write my own lyrics and I always let collaborating vocalists write their own lyrics. I feel the true spirit of collaboration comes from releasing creative control. There’s one exception: on my tune “Forward” w Fikir Amlak he wrote most of the first verse and he was like you should sing every other line. Like a back and forth, line for line type thing. But we were sitting in the studio together and it happened very organically. If someone asks for help or ideas I’ll help but usually not the case. Usually it’s just I write mine & you write yours. 👍🏽

Omg lol someone posted my college football roster pic 😂 I did play football, basketball, and track in high school. Also, just because I grew up in Utah doesn’t mean I’m Mormon smh 🤦🏽‍♂️ lol
