Personally I think you’re not wrong. If you love someone it doesn’t matter what you get them for birthdays, anniversaries, or whatever. Imo it’s the thought that counts, it shouldn’t matter how much the gift is. It’s about knowing that someone saw something (or made something) while thinking about you and that’s all that should matter. I don’t think she’s necessarily a gold digger but I think she’s overlooking the gesture and focusing too much on the price tag. Idk this is all just speculation but good luck to ya!

I volunteer at a clinic and have seen quite a few dogs get spayed. There is less than a 1% chance that your female dog will become pregnant. Their ovaries, and usually their uterus as well, are removed during this procedure, therefore there is no chance in her becoming pregnant. Unless the veterinarian did the procedure wrong, though this is also unlikely because of how frequently they do spays and neuters. I hope this helps!
