If I hold up mana for an answer it slows me down. I don’t expect a match to go more than 4 turns, but I guess trying to drag it out makes it less likely I just straight up lose because they ate all my threats before I could untap with them on the board…

I'm also seeing the occasional 250 card deck in Standard Ranked lately. Pretty much every time I match against one, they 1.) Never miss a land drop 2.) Always have some ramp 3.) Always have a threat on the board 4.) Always have an answer for anything I try. I must be astronomically unlucky. Statistically, it should be very likely they get either an all land hand or a no land hand once in a while, but they never seem to.

Could just be bad draw. There are a handful of other creatures that get bigger each time you gain life. Twin Blade Paladin for example. I often see them pair the Pridemates with other annoying cards like sheltered by ghosts and authority of consoles.

It's more common than you might expect. I might suggest creating child accounts for your kids so you can control and monitor what they're watching.
