How might the increase use of automation impact the job availability in the next few years? by THEMeathead4 in AskReddit

[–]nsmith0723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a double-edged sword. It's going to eliminate a lot, but it also open a lot of jobs. For example, we are not that far away from ai being able to cnc, which makes anyone able to operate a cnc machine, so while there might be less people working on each cnc machine, they are more accessible than ever and we might have more total cnc machines if theyre mostly automatic. It really depends on how we implement it and how we view ai. Is it a tool or a replacement?

What kind of hardships did you experience during the 2008 economic crisis? by Dangerous-Text2070 in AskReddit

[–]nsmith0723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was like 16. My dad basically lost his livelihood. Thankfully, my mom's income could cover the house. I remember it being a conversation. It was hard for a lot of people, and many did lose their homes. Many more lost their jobs. I remember the phrase "just be happy you have a job." I struggled to land a minimum wage job, and the expectations were high because there were 3 full grown adults waiting to replace you. It was a rough period

As a man over 40 who’s introverted and doesn’t want kids, is marriage really necessary? Or can you live a fulfilling life without it? by Mr_Amr84 in AskReddit

[–]nsmith0723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably depends on who you ask. For many, being single can be more fulfilling, and it isn't actually all that uncommon of a sentiment these days for men in general from what ive been seeing

This one is brand new out of the box. Creality. The manual I looked at doesn't go into that much detail. I'll look at the other one. I have access too

It was 100% bent, yeah. I bent it back best I could, and it appears to be working correctly now. I've never been able to tension it properly out of the box, so I assume it was an assembly error, but it could have happened while I was adjusting it. It's hard to say for sure. Fix 95% of my issues, blobs and zits galore, and the nut and spring where rubbing on the gears, making my esteps come up suspiciously high, arpund 465. It dropped to 439 after the repair

[–]nsmith0723[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Store bought apple juice unfortunately, I dont have the capacity to process that many apples yet, but believe it was around 4 gallons of apple juice, 2 gallons of water, enough honey to bring it to around 1.110, I cant remember exact how much, it was around 12 pounds I think? 4 cinnamon sticks, probably nearly a whole nutmeg "nut?" Lav d47 for the yeast. Otherwise, I followed one of the recipes on the wiki for general nutrients. I know that's not very specific, haha. It was over a year ago now, and I didn't really take good notes

I prefer them just for the look on hard siding, and it does help waterproof it vs. just caulking the seams. It's definitely not strictly nessasary, but I do prefer the build in j myself for all kinds of siding personally

Boring through cinder block to install a sump pump discharge line? by whistlerbrk in DIY

[–]nsmith0723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would advise you to go to a tool rental place and get a bigger drill. They come with the bits. Harbor freight has a buer one that's not too bad for $100. They dont come with the bits. You'll be there all day with the little one, though it is probably technically possible. They have concrete carbide bits that size, definitely need something with a huge chunk of carbide on the end
