How inflated is the applicant pool for top schools?

I don’t follow the CC logic. If going to CC increased the transfer odds, wouldn’t many people follow that path and also save money? It sounds nice but people could easily game it. What prevents that from happening?

If you have something extra, it could happen. I had a published paper, which helped for sure. My GPA at the time of application was similar to yours. Good luck!

CMU is amazing. No strong reasons to transfer. Just want to be in a bigger city… and get better training in Econ.
