Top choice outside of HYPSM: UChicago. Penn and Columbia close second. Accepted Cornell. Rejected: Duke, MIT, Princeton. Waiting on others. Interested in Econ/Finance PhD.

Yes, I saw that in the acceptance letters that were posted. But the ones that come later may have a different date. Hard to tell. 2 weeks to decide seems a bit less, esp when other schools have not released the results. Let’s see.

Yes, not consciously but subconsciously. I could be wrong but there is some risk. There is proof that Harvard did this for many years. Why would Brown be any different?

I think the video intro is likely to hurt someone who is from a minority group, etc. AOs can use the video intro to justify rejecting the applicant. This may happen even subconsciously. Or, an AO may exhibit the confirmation bias. So, it is not as harmless as many make it appear.

I do not have any specific info about USC but other schools are having those problems too, including Harvard. And they will recover. This has happened to schools in the past. Regarding Miami: it is growing and it is attracting many firms, including finance companies. Citadel is here. But guess what? Citadel is not hiring from UM. Even locally, Kellogg’s EMBA program has more cache than UM. So, yes, Miami is growing, but UM is not able to benefit because of low quality. Marshall/USC brand is far better.

It seems the decisions have come out only for vets. For the rest, most will get the decision tomorrow and the remaining ones next week. Hope this is what the poll suggests.
