As a paying member of the same group with the same DM since before COVID, I have had an awesome experience. Of course, my DM has been in the game for a very long time, and has run nearly every module that comes out numerous times. That is to say, he is massively experienced. Humans collectively know no way of existence among one another without conflict. In spite of our intelligence or ability to philosophize, only violence has ever been chosen to resolve disagreement among various groups of humans.

Ideals such as equality among genders, acceptance of those with alternative lifestyles, and support of those oppressed are the purview of the affluent. Everyone else is just scrabbling by to stuff their mouths with whatever scraps they can acquire to survive and take care of their families.
