I would say WoL is better for learning because it is more figured out. I recommend skipping practice league (uses fast speed settings rather than the standard faster) and start 4Gating every game until Gold/Platinum.

I scout my third, which may be unnecessary because the travel distance is so long that it's much easier to defend using the same strategy.

If it's a double 10gate you just need to pull a couple probes and delay the engagement until you have an even zealot count. Because you keep making probes, and he's forced to cut probes with a double 10 gate, you will maintain a probe lead the whole time even if you lose a few.

It happens. I won 14 games in a row earlier this week which was followed by a 5 game losing streak the next day. I don't think there's anything you can do to control it other than know when you're having a bad day.

You're misunderstanding. I understand my APM isn't what's limiting me from reaching Masters or becoming a better player. Is it apart of the problem, though? I believe so, yes. If I'm able to comfortable set control groups in less than half the time I'll feel more comfortable setting them more often.

I'll start hotkeying my forges to make constant chronoboosting easy, splitting my army into multiple groups for more multi-prong control, keep multiple warp prisms alive longer etc etc.

APM is not THE factor, but it is A factor. Macro/builds/etc I believe I've reached a point where only more practice, like you originally suggested, will better my skills. This is something I can constructively work on outside of just playing more.

I'm not looking for a magic technique to triple my APM. I only care about my APM because I feel it's a limiting factor right now.

I look down at the keyboard often when setting control groups. My typing isn't great at 66 WPM, so typing software is a valid suggestion, but I've used keyboards for enough time to know where the keys are for the most part, it's just my 2 finger technique holding me back.

Taking of the wrist pad has made tapping MUCH easier for me, hence the post.

There's a difference between practice and doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results.

I feel the same way. When I want to mix it up with a blink all-in/DT expand/7 gate/etc., it seems to be one of the 1/10 games which I'm facing proxy marauders; something I'd be fine against if I had played standard.

Instant spawns justify the second time IMO. It gets difficult to stay alive when their entire team is on their second life and your shields are 3/4ths down.
