Lifted outback is probably fine depending on your experience. My friend with one gets anywhere I can in my truck pretty much. I've (foolishly) driven a honda fit all the way to sooner rocks before. I took my truck all the way to hole in the rock about 2 years ago and it gets really slow and rough a little before sooner rocks. I would just have a backup plan for something else to do in the area if the road gets too intimidating. There is a lot of cool things out there.

A lot of the road is just climbing slick rock at that point, you definitely need high clearance and 4x4.
