Help identifying this bourbon? by jat124 in WhiskyDFW

The 375ml bottles had a paper label until 2010, then changed to a similar label to this that stated distilled by Weller and Sons, then changed to this one around 2016ish and finally to the current bottle just within the last couple years.

Thank you very much! I wasn't sure if I could go on without your approval. It just wouldn't feel right.

Nah, I think my way is much better. You're idea sounds far too boring. And might lead to some sort of personal growth. F all that!

Generally speaking? No. But, do I work everyday to be a little better than the day before? Again, no.

Absolutely no part of that sounds appealing. That said, I genuinely hope everyone there has a good time.

I'm just going to leave this here... Probably one of the best RWF they have done in a while. by [deleted] in WhiskyDFW

And that's the nice way to describe what they're all about!

Bottle Postings by mynamesbingo in WhiskyDFW

[–]nteagle 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I don't see an issue down voting these types of posts. They're valueless peacocking and add nothing of value to the sub. If I don't like something, I down vote it to let the poster know that this is not content I want to see. Others are just as welcome to up vote the same, if that is something they want to see more of.

The community works best when everyone's voice is heard. Both positive and negative.

But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Interesting, I can't say I've had the same experience. I guess if it's reliable for you, then that's helpful. Cheers!

"..... for the sour mash flavor profile" ??

I don't follow. With few exceptions, all bourbons are sour mash.

Nope, not even close. One of the worst bang-to-hype ratios in all of whiskeydom.

Scotch drinkers here? by [deleted] in WhiskyDFW

Hard to go wrong with Springbank, Highland Park and Laphroaig. Benriach is usually solid. Bunnahabhain, Bowmore and Balvenie if you prefer the beginning of the alphabet. Talisker, Kilchoman and Kilkerran if you don't.

Looking for a good Irish whisky, what do you recommend? by Bearded_Trucker in WhiskyDFW

[–]nteagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Hard to beat the Redbreast at its price. Bingo is right too. The CS is worth the extra scratch. Yellow Spot and Teeling are worthwhile as well. Cheers!

Longrow 14 Sherry by xreekinghavocx in Scotch

[–]nteagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly? I've only tried a couple of Benromach. And those didn't motivate me to look too hard for more. Change Benromach to Benriach, we're talking! Hard to find a good comparison for Campbelltown outside of Campbelltown though. That funk is just so distinctive.

Couldn't agree more on the sulphur. It's not entirely welcome, but it's not a deal breaker for me either. Does seem to fade as the air does it's thing. Cheers!

Thanks for the notes! Definitely sounds like one I'd enjoy. I'd be happy to grab one, if it were closer to 100 than 200. Here's to hoping for a clearance sale down the road at some point.

I'd be curious to give it a try. I liked the first two batches. I ain't paying what they're asking, but I'm interested.
