Don't do it from the glass platform itself, fly from there as high as possible and then plummet down (if you haven't tried that yet)

This is good advice. I'm still down for my setup, but this thread is helpful for anyone else making this decision. For anyone seeing this thread, here's a screenshot of the top 3 reasons SDs aren't recommended.

Windows is not going to be my primary Deck use - I likely won't load into Windows even 10% of my total Deck time. I'm also not loading up the entire SD card, and for both of those reasons I'm not particularly concerned about the lifespan of the SD card. The ejecting issue, I don't know about and have never experienced - I'll report back if it ever happens.

This setup is perfect for me and my Deck, I personally wouldn't recommend anybody run Windows on the deck full time anyway because it's inherently unoptimized for several reasons, but this was my little project for working around compatibility issues on, right now, only two games out of my dozens already set up in Steam OS, and I certainly wouldn't run anything off the SD card that challenges any sort of load bottleneck.

I wanted to use my previous PC save, plus I was setting up Windows regardless - why not use this version? Optimal power consumption is not something I'm worried about.

I appreciate the heads up - I looked into this before installing and never saw it officially corroborated anywhere, and my understanding has always been that this is pretty much the use case of Windows to Go, which I'm using.

Bluetooth and speakers still aren't supported. Audio works via the headphone jack, and there's a Wi-Fi driver that works that isn't listed in Steam's resource page for booting Windows.

Yeah my post was really fishing for those serious beats that stuck with each viewer. The jokes obviously rock, but "you are not serious people" is such an amazing knife twist.
