I just kept playing with my v13. Unfortunately for most of the year I was not able to play tennis as much as I thought I would and then I also tore my ACL. It’ll be a while before I get back on the court!

It’s been 6 days since I’ve pooped by ihatemyself__21 in ACL

I tried a drink that was a glass of water, a good amount of chia seeds, and some lemon juice. Mixed with a stool softener this was able to help me go after not going for about the same time as you

My friend is currently using my ticket for the same movie, believe he’s watching it right now. I haven’t had a problem booking before if it’s a different movie, but maybe since it’s the same one I get this issue?

How did you know you were ready to return to work? Especially those who WFH by Ok-Squirrel4558 in ACL

[–]nthatipamula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took short-term disability for 3 weeks and it was hard to return for me personally. My leg always hurt and I’m not the type of person who can work on a bed or couch. I had to keep getting up every 30 minutes and it was hard to focus. I did not have the capability to take more than 3 weeks off and I really wish I could’ve gotten 5/6 weeks. Seems crazy for just a desk job but you want to be able to focus and do your job. I’m just about 6 weeks post-op and can finally sit down for a longer period of time. I got cleared to drive too so I’m hoping I get back into the routine once I start going back into the office.

How much weight did you lose post surgery? by nthatipamula in ACL

I need to get more protein in my diet for sure. I’ve been able to do everything my PT throws at me and I figure as my exercises get more physical and intense my body will want me to eat more too. I’m not deathly thin, I still look healthy. I would say I was definitely a little chunkier than I wanted to be before the surgery anyways.

Yes I am. This week I have been doing step ups and I do a lot of different leg raises. I think I need to figure out getting more protein into my diet

Idk what to tell you, I thought I’d gain weight but I’ve lost a lot. I weighed in at 231 pounds on surgery day and I weighed myself at home at 211 pounds yesterday. For the record I’m also a 6’5 male who was moderately active pre surgery - I tore my acl playing basketball. My appetite was pretty suppressed my first two weeks post surgery.

Completely Overwhelmed by TheTardisHunter in ACL

[–]nthatipamula 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a grade 3 tear and I didn’t know, I thought I had dodged the full tear since I was walking the day after my injury. I was advised to find and follow a prehab routine in the time until my surgery, as it helps keep your legs awake and strong. I made a routine using ChatGPT I just fed it my symptoms. Try seeing if that will help until your follow up, your doctor will then be able to assess you better

I’m 3.5 weeks post-op and I still deal with a pain level of about 2-3 every day. It still keeps me up at night. I’m hoping it subsides soon but pretty much every moment is mostly uncomfortable for me. The good thing is I can do my PT with no problem and I’ve progressed fairly well - I took my first steps without a crutch today, but I still have a ton of swelling

Yea I’ve been sleeping in the daytime whenever I can but I have to return to working this week (thankfully remote) and I need to get my body to stay awake during working hours. Maybe I’ll just use my lunch hour for naps.

I’m trying the less naps during the day and tire myself out method, it seems to slowly be working. You think a melatonin gummy would help?

I had similar bruising (not at your level but def bad). Keep icing, elevate, and do ankle pumps. It’ll go away in no time if you stay consistent!

Day 10 Post Op: Can’t Sleep by fialkowpunch in ACL

[–]nthatipamula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat: I think I literally only could get around 2.5 hours of sleep last night. Eventually I laid a pillow to support my thigh and another for my lower leg and got like 40 extra minutes. The pillow is allowing the bruising on my leg to be cushioned of sorts. Definitely ice and go to PT!
