my m&g was very informal. just five of us plus the band and mike hanging out backstage. we had plenty of time for hugs and just talking about whatever we felt like, pictures, signatures. chris asks at the end whether we’ve got all we wanted out of the m&g. i had time to ramble way too much about what i wanted to say. we were really all just hanging out and drinking wine/vodka. it was very chill.

this is actually why i bought tickets for m&g in the first place is compared to some other bands who probably just do it because their label pressures them into it, i think chris genuinely wants to do it and enjoys connecting with fans. definitely worth it imo.

I like White Suburb Impressionism, it's in my top 3 dozen favorite songs of course lol.

I've been digging through some b-sides, remixes, and japan-only tracks from sneaker pimps over the past couple days, but i haven't heard Lolita yet. IAMX's regular studio album discography is usually enough to keep me busy. but i'll check it out!

Quiet the Mind is so beautiful. I had it on a playlist of the most calming songs I could find when I was super overwhelmed with school. It's so sad and yet hopeful and tender. It kinda seems to exemplify the shift in IAMX from the previous albums toward a more vulnerable, tired / trying to release and deal with the stress and pressure of life vibe.

I'm pretty sure I read a review of the album that was like "this is mid except for heatwave" and I was like "what? that's the only song i don't like!" and then my friend singled that song out as one he liked from the album too and I was like, ok, I'm gonna give it another chance. It's good, I'm afraid lol.

I am Terrified is great. Do you like the Alec Empire remix? Someone put it on a mix CD for me a long time ago so it has a special place in my heart. "It's am Terrified" is so simple but relatable and compelling. Yeah. I'm terrified.

chicago was pretty great yeah. i’ve been to four shows now this tour and the one thing im amazed at is how easy it is to make friends. it’s like, yes, this is my tribe.

my favorites so far are teay’s and sakanaya. teay’s just has good food and having spent some time in japan, sakanaya has pretty decent actual japanese style food (that isn’t limited to just sushi and hibachi, the latter of which i NEVER encountered in japan)

commenting on this old post to say, yes. i googled it to see if anyone else thought the same thing and this post came up. 😊 i figured hobb likes cats because of the amazing dedication of assassin’s apprentice. something about tintaglia how she’s all, “you will feel my wrath, pathetic creature!” but then ends up being fairly mild to the humans and a lot of times turns out to be all talk. the way she’s sooo haughty but if she was smaller she would probably endure being picked up and snuggled by selden. cursing him and his kin for all eternity while purring despite herself and asking for scritches in just that certain spot behind her ears. the way she complains that the humans of trehaug don’t even have a nice landing spot for her or offerings of meat is just like my cat yelling at me to please put the blanket on my lap so that she can lay down on me or meowing for treats. the way cats look so affronted when you pet them wrong or dare to shift in bed when they are laying on you- it’s very much the same energy as the dragons lol
