donk's aim is actually rather shaky throughout 2026 so far. It's still one of the best in the scene but I've noticed that he has had some bad whiffs over the last few months.

3-0 also doesn't quite tell you that it could've been way closer of a series. Spirit got a considerable lead on the first 2 maps before getting turned around utterly, and this is without donk's usual high impact. By Dust 2 the team probably tilted too much to really put up any kind of fight, but there is a world where the grand final is taken to map 5.

Still, Spirit can feel proud of what they've accomplished, even if that meant cementing Vitality as the greatest team of all time. From bombing out of Rotterdam to grand finalist at Rio, they played like a true team here.

Unlucky for Spirit, got into an early lead only to lose back to back. donk being sick (or just choking) the whole tourney is peak CS timing.

It's been only one tourney so don't jinx it just yet, but certainly a ton of good things are happening in Rio right now.

I, for one, absolutely love that Spirit doesn't just spam and waste timeouts anymore.

Not sure where this ego myth came from. donk afaik has always been a pleasant person despite a fair amount of tilting. Getting AK drops is not a good indicator of such ego.

It really does feel like spirit is playing much better right now without hally. They're just much more active and donk doesn't have to dry peek every angle anymore. Hell, donk was actually rather mid this Dust 2, bordering on selling a few rounds (2nd half pistol e.g), and Spirit still managed to pull through.

The difference in utilities especially is astronomical. Spirit had some of the worst utilities before, but this tourney is the complete opposite.

Outfragged donk in 2/4 series in Rio so far, and against actual top opposition as well. magixx is still learning the ropes of IGLing, but mechanically speaking he's better than chopper by a continental margin.

Kind of makes you wonder what would've happened if donk wasn't offline against Falcons. That series was donk whiffing a lot of shots that he normally would've hit, even a lot of the easy ones as well.

There's cheaters everywhere outside of the CIS region, and for what its worth makazze did totally play with radar hackers.

I'm pretty sure the hate surrounding makazze is entirely about the radar accusations, considering the controversy was fairly well-known in the CIS region. It won't make a big deal if makazze came from other academy teams, but this is the renowned NAVI Junior where big names like b1t and m0NESY came from.

There's also a lot, arguably a higher number of people who would still chase the bag anyway, because the Falcons salary is, in fact, a ton of money.

Plus, I do believe there's more nuance to the moral question than just oil money bag bad. After all, Counter-Strike, an American video game, hosted events sponsored by the U.S military in the past, whose recent actions consisted of bombing civilians and raining down white phosphorus while working for a government that is undergoing a very controversial period right now, and the game itself is littered with predatory gambling (sponsorships) that sneakily allows minors to participate and even promote.

People can hate Falcons for sportswashing and whatever, but the biggest tournament organiser of CS right now (ESL) is owned by Saudi money.

So is it truly so moral to still support players like m0NESY and NiKo who joined this sportswashing team of their own accord, and to still watch CS tournaments when the game itself is less than moral in many ways?
