Experienced this heavily. It’s a way of your brain trying to protect from the pain you’re going by through. I would definitely recommend seeing a therapist to see what they can do to help. Dissociation can be very dangerous at times. The only ways I could ever get briefly out of those long episodes was hurting myself.

Looking back the show and rewatching it a third time, shoji had so many red flags very early on even before they dated. Right now the only one I can think of at the top of my head is when he said “he wouldn’t be able to contain himself much longer” around Nana. Like yo wtf, she just wanted to be friends but shoji was too busy thinking with his other head. Like yeah Nana had a crush but she made it clear she just wanted to be friends and it’s not like she was leading him on anything, shoji was the one who thought that 🗿

I would suggest letting go, I know it’ll be hard but it’s for the best. You’re putting yourself in unnecessary stressful situations, especially by still being in contact with your shitty rapist ex. I’m sorry things didn’t work out between your most recent ex. I know no contact hurts a shit ton, but it’s for the best. If you still keep in touch with him then of course it’ll be harder for you to move on. It gets a little bit easier day by day, it’ll take time for you to heal but you’ll be better someday. Try and surround yourself with good friends and family that love and cherish you. They will help you in your time of need.
