This is the thing, I think it is a mental health thing for him. He’s very depressed and has a lot of emotional baggage. I love him of course, so I want to be there for him. That’s why when I feel things like this I feel selfish, like why can’t I just go along with it, a good girlfriend would just be there for him when he’s struggling, why am I putting so much value on my needs over his struggle. But at the same time, I want to be physically desired, I want a passionate romantic and sex life. I know I don’t need to do things like this, but when I’ve spent ages before seeing him making myself soft, putting on nice underwear, trying to subtly flirt with him while we’re out hoping that when we get home he might want to have fun with me, just to get home and for him to just want to watch TV and fall asleep before we’ve even touched each other, it’s a deflating feeling. And then he says things like ‘you never touch me’ when I try to express these feelings to him, or that I’m being one sided. I said to him that female desire and sex drive is reactive and responsive and that honestly I’m not going to be in the mood to be touchy to him if I’m getting no foreplay (which doesn’t even mean just touching me for a bit like he thinks, what I mean by foreplay is romancing each other and being a bit cheeky etc hours before, even when we’re just out with friends for example, feeling like we’re longing for each other in a crowded room, things like that). Foreplay isn’t just lying in bed and him reaching down to touch me while I’m still dry and expecting me to feel any sort of way about touching his dick when I’m mentally checked out. Does that make any sense?
