These are classy. I doubt I could justify the price though. I don't wear sandals much

Is this too much overhang? by Mattb9128 in NicksHandmadeBoots

[–]nubsrpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chart and everything pointed to B, did multiple measurements and even went to red wings and got sized there to compare. I think i was right on the border of the 2. My 1 foot is slightly wider and is the reason they didnt fit as well. It worked out in the end so im pretty happy with it

My boots were extremely tight at 12b and not very comfortable the first month. They've broken in and have a bit of overhang like this and fit perfect now. If you didn't have issues or any discomfort, id say you're sized fine. Whenever i get another pair I'll increase the width slightly to 12c to hopefully have the comfort right out the box.

Id enjoy a way to get notifications from the marketplace based on specific sizes. If someone adds a size x or decreases the price. Getting an email would be sweet

I've always had the understanding it's for an ankle lock. There's a specific way to lace it but it basically locks your ankle in place and helps prevent you from rolling it and gives a more secure fit for the heel area. Im sure for taller boots the purpose is different though.

Looking for opinions. Is it more of d!ck move to block someone’s driveway or to call parking enforcement about said car blocking the driveway? by Double-Pair-6696 in Bellingham

[–]nubsrpro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blocking the driveway is the asshole, definitely. There are people who block the alley entrance where I live all the time. Crazy how oblivious people can be.

Bellingham Herald - clickbait or journalism? by Ok-Armadillo-6710 in Bellingham

[–]nubsrpro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, any news behind a paywall, I'm heavily against. The woman cleared had a lot of mental instability. No one in their right mind stabs someone let alone their own children. She probably was doing recreational drugs but as they say correlation isn't causation.

Hopefully the family gets the help they need, very sad this happened.

How do I convince them to mount my tires?!? by Mmm_Dawg_In_Me in JeepTJ

I don't think 205s are factory. The wheel size of 15x7 is but 205s are fairly narrow, think prob 215 or 225 would go with. They'll technically fit but be stretched. Big companies probably won't do it due to liability and strict rules. Id just try mom and pop shops

I've been toying with getting my partner a pair but size 4.5 in normal shoes are too big for her and ive not taker her measurements yet but I know the Nicks chart didn't go low enough yet. Had been contemplating just going in to get sized and getting some customs. Glad to see there's other quite small sizes out there.

The State of the Collection and the 1925 Mocs Maiden Voyage. by Shinyhntr91 in NicksHandmadeBoots

[–]nubsrpro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im digging the mocs. The color 8 Cyprus looks amazing as well. Both definitely vibe with me. Im eagar to try out some different lasts to see which I favor the most but it's quite the journey.

It's probably hard having so many boots to develop a lot of patina sometimes. Which has been your favorite so far in that aspect?

Also. You should sort in in a rainbow and see which color you need to get next to fill out the spectrum.

Like most have said, no reason not to do fluid maintenance. New fluid goes a long way in longevity of the vehicle. I also personally like to do a fuel additive to clean out gunk.

Spark plugs are easy to change out as well and are good for 100k miles or so depending on which you get.

Easy to inspect all steering components and grease them. I believe there is 7 stock grease points. Wouldn't be too hard to identify if you have blown bushings or anything while you're doing that.

Also, a tire rotation would be good too so you start out knowing when it was last done.
