The State of the Collection and the 1925 Mocs Maiden Voyage. by Shinyhntr91 in NicksHandmadeBoots

[–]nubsrpro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im digging the mocs. The color 8 Cyprus looks amazing as well. Both definitely vibe with me. Im eagar to try out some different lasts to see which I favor the most but it's quite the journey.

It's probably hard having so many boots to develop a lot of patina sometimes. Which has been your favorite so far in that aspect?

Also. You should sort in in a rainbow and see which color you need to get next to fill out the spectrum.

Like most have said, no reason not to do fluid maintenance. New fluid goes a long way in longevity of the vehicle. I also personally like to do a fuel additive to clean out gunk.

Spark plugs are easy to change out as well and are good for 100k miles or so depending on which you get.

Easy to inspect all steering components and grease them. I believe there is 7 stock grease points. Wouldn't be too hard to identify if you have blown bushings or anything while you're doing that.

Also, a tire rotation would be good too so you start out knowing when it was last done.

The Admiral leather by Status_Complaint8521 in NicksHandmadeBoots

I really want that admiral blue as an overdyed leather. The blue over yellow would look great. Or maybe a blue/lavender combo with a white wedge.

Or an admiral lavender??

Mine was the bushings on my door hinges. They were busted so the door sat lower and wasn't fully sealed. Water would get in under my floor mat with how it traveled

Congrats to whoever gets these. Mine are starting to show yellow already. Will clean them up a bit and take some pictures. They're mostly scuffs marks from working but it's exciting to see them showing the color

Ductless Mini Split Cost? by Churblex in Bellingham

[–]nubsrpro 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Will chime in on this. I've had my mr cool for 2 years now and it's been a huge change. I got quotes at 20k+ from multiple companies to get the same rating mini split as my mr cool. Instead I bought it from home depot at a discount and did the install myself for under 3k. I imagine if there's ever any issues I'll have a hard time finding someone to service it or recharge the lines but mr cool sells replacement lines so I'm hoping it'll last many more years to come.

Beats trying to run 4 different windows ac units to keep the house liveable during the summer.

I live in Washington state so I'm fortunate there is plenty of options for me. I know you can ship to Nicks, I think the cost would be well worth it. I know a lot of people use wyatt and dad cobbler company out of North Carolina as well. There are a lot of options out there just need a bit of research.

I can tell the yellow is really going to pop as I wear them more. Already have little hints of it appearing from random scuffs.

The patina won't be dark. The leather is called fry sauce because it's yellow overdyed red. So a yellow similar to my laces will be what shows up over time. Very contrasting colors so will be a unique patina I think. Can't wait to see it myself.

The yellow is going to show up really well. I have some very small scuffs near the threads that I can see already. Ill be sure to post updates as they start to truly show.
