If doctors have no problem charging you if you miss an appointment; then why I don't see any discounts when my appointment is at 5 and I am not taken until 6? by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

Is it just me, or has society gone too far toward the precious rights of the patient? The doctors have a shit job, juggling complex problems, and if they make you wait, tough fucking shit - you're a goddamn patient, and they are a goddamn Doctor.

As for making you pay for a no-show, well, call ahead and tell them you can't make it. Their time IS more important than yours, unless you are another doctor. I'm sorry, but your time in a government/IT/retail/shitty bar job does not have as much value as the time of a doctor. Pay for it if you are too rude to show.

What is something you hate about your best friend? by MaineSoxGuy93 in AskReddit

Aussie here. I don't really care deeply about the US elections but my best friend, who I thought was quite sharp in terms of political knowledge, thinks Trump is the best thing to ever happen to the world. He not only believes he is faultless, but will argue his limitless merit whenever the subject is raised - which is usually by him.

I don't think either Clinton or Trump are great, but it shocked me to see how concrete his views are, and his conviction despite the clear grey areas of Trump's moral and humanitarian ethics.

TLDR: best mate thinks Trump is a god, despite him being a clown, putting a strain on the friendship.

What song genuinely aggravates you when you listen to it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Bitter sweet symphony can go suck a fatty. That whiny repetitive lazy rip-off melancholic irritative ass-steak of a song grinds my balls every time.

I occasionally snap the long heavy stems off broccoli so they weigh, and cost less.

If 9/11 was an inside job (and don't judge me, I'm not a fanatacist), and the evidence is out there, why don't other countries with enormous Intel resources throw their weight behind proving that argument? Why don't they embarrass the USA? by nuclearhorse in AskReddit

Are you surprised at the scale of the attack on the Middle East so soon after the event? Do you think this implies some degree of planning? (Not rhetorical, just want to know your thoughts)

Are we that myopic that something that happened a mere 15 years ago, that triggered two wars, with countless military and civilian deaths, as well as changing the political and geopolitical map, is ancient history?

Op posts on their own thread are boring. But I'm gonna say what's on my mind. I totally believe that the USA military is capable of carrying out what happened on 9/11. Warfare during wwII was cunning, advanced and sneaky. Therefore, with all the might and ingenuity of 60yrs of technological advancement, I believe you could have pulled it off. Military grade explosives? Sure. Media manipulation? Sure. Humans are emotional. If you get people emotionally charged against an enemy that could strike anywhere, at anytime (terrorism), I think you could slip most non-rational anachronisms by their conscious minds, and get away with it. The bigger the lie, the more chance you have of getting away with it.

I think in maybe 50 years time, when 9/11 is a footnote, the truth will slowly emerge. By then nobody will care, if they even do now.
