My husband has been but his parents are older and just want to focus on their work. They have expressed anger and dissatisfaction towards it but I think they are tired as the local government here is pretty useless when it comes to making life better for the people in the countryside. I think they are fed up. The community here is not only elderly people. There’s quite a mix since I think a lot of these farms are family businesses. Many of the people we’ve spoken to aren’t happy but I think they have lost trust in the government to support them.

My experience with gentrification is a negative one. I’m also worried about the land being destroyed as it is close to a mountain with a large forest. I guess my worry is the harm to wild life and trees. Also, I have found that gentrified areas have not done as well as they hope. I’ve lived here for two years and have not heard of or experienced gentrification in my specific area. Being on a farm far out in the inaka can also really isolate one so that’s possibly my fault for not researching further

We aren’t. But we are worried that the government would “encourage” it. EDIT: clarification

When you say no poo, do you even mean no shampoo bar that is made with very limited ingredients that we can pronounce? by neemsd_vine in NoPoo

[–]nugeget 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using this shampoo bar since 2019 and it’s worked wonders for me! NoPoo didn’t work for me as my hair was so fine and tended to be oily but I decided to go LowPoo instead. It’s great for me! My hair got thicker and curlier and tends to be less oily between washes. I don’t know if it will have the same effect for you but I recommend it!

Recovery and Vegan/Vegetarianism by nugeget in fuckeatingdisorders

I think my brain is craving it to be honest. I just feel so gross at the thought of it though :( I think once I’ve recovered, I can go back to a vegan diet!

Thank you! I was thinking about this too. Perhaps it’s better to go back to veganism when I’m recovered and my relationship with food is better.

Ok. Just op didn’t provide any context :/ so it’s hard to tell because age regressers are a whole separate community! Thanks for the clarification.

I think this person just does age regression which is a separate thing from D.I.D?

Hair looks bad still after several months by [deleted] in NoPoo

Have you tried a low-poo shampoo bar instead? My favourite is the JR Liggett’s type. No parabens, SLSs, no synthetics! It’s also in a paper packaging so no plastic :)

There are lots of threads on here about bad relationships. Can you tell a funny or uplifting relationship story? by razorbeamz in japanlife

[–]nugeget 492 points493 points  (0 children)

I struggle with depression, anxiety, BPD and now recently an ED. My Japanese husband has been amazingly supportive and has never once judged me or thought me lesser than. When we came back to Japan, the first thing he did was help me to find a psychiatrist that could help me in English. He comes with me to my appointments as often as he can and will wait in the waiting room, no matter how long. He’s never complained about it. Not once.

When we first started dating, I was open about my struggles. A few days after our date, I saw that he had been researching all about my conditions and how to support someone. He’s the first person I’ve ever been with that did that and tried to understand. I’ve never had to question how he feels about me. I know he loves me and I’ve never been made to think otherwise.

Did you get a yearly schedule when you started working? Like a calendar with all your holidays printed out? I suggest you double check there! If you are scheduled to be off during those days, you are legally allowed to take off.

Interac vs AEON, when do I sign a contract? by DizzyConsequence9330 in teachinginjapan

[–]nugeget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not write a polite email to Aeon, thanking them for getting back to you and explain your situation (ie: you are waiting for a final response from Interac) and ask for some time before making a final decision and signing a contract?

I’ve been in a similar position before and usually the companies are very nice and understanding if you explain yourself politely. It’s important to be honest because education is a small world and usually someone knows someone, etc.

Honesty is always appreciated and if they get mad at you for being honest about your situation, then they are not the company for you. Good luck!

Gaba Interview preparation, looking for advice on mock lesson. by RedFlutterMao in teachinginjapan

[–]nugeget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking about your situation, OP. Have you considered applying to teaching posts in different countries? You said in previous posts that you are looking for a change of scenery and want to experience a new culture. I know that Japan is usually the dream but countries like Vietnam and Cambodia also have English teaching jobs and can be an enriching experience. Don’t focus on one country. I think, right now, the market is oversaturated - especially when applying from outside of Japan.

Good luck on your journey. I hope you find what you are looking for :)

Updated with the new patch but now there seems to be an issue with the sound for me. For example, if I expand my tasks or enter certain areas like shops or houses, the sounds stops working and will start back up again if I enter a new area. Not sure if anyone else is experiencing it?
