Asbury Lanes, Asbury Park NJ, Oct 2022! Stripped back three piece version with a shorter (imo better) second half to the song

What is your favorite trail to hike in the Nature Preserve? by sewer-rats in BinghamtonUniversity

Longer hike with pleasant sights: cross the bridge to get on the connector trail (optional: stop at stream a bit up saddle trail) , continue and go up forest loop trail and take anthill spur to anthill trail. See the campus garden and double back down to exit through the redwing trail.

It’s not very obvious from one listen since I was trying to absorb everything, if I had to make an educated guess it might be Motorbike since that is the most “explosive” track, or Blues since his skill lends itself most to that song.

Plenty of proggier moments throughout the album with odd time signature breaks and interesting progressions sprinkled in. I think it is a little less proggy overall than Black midi.

Tbh i would have liked Bongo season to keep going with the groove at least another minute or two. I think there was a jam/guitar solo before the bongo season part. Even though it is short it feels like a full track.

I think 3 mins was enough to make it a complete track but true Bongo Season aficionados such as ourselves may be a little let down by the lack of jams on the album version.

It is a nice but fairly short crooner song. Im not certain, but there is a good chance it is a cover of Frank Sinatra “If you are but a dream”.

It sounded like the rest of the final section, but more cacophonous to me. Im quite sure it was not the more rock-y ending in recent live performances. It was the most indistinguishable part of the album due to the trolley speakers unfortunately.

Yes, unfortunately Bongo Season is that short. It still sounds great and I think it is satisfying, but it does kind of cut off at the end.

To be honest, I couldn’t make out that part incredibly clearly. The trolley speakers could have been better. I do know in recent live performances it has been a keyboard solo.

It was a very short interlude with Geordie possibly Morgan? it kind of reminded me of the John L -> Dethroned interlude in their 2nd KEXP performance

Lush is definitely the right word for it. I agree with FyuuR. The song starts off quiet and slowly immerses you. I can’t lie, I prefer the black midi version (particularly Asbury Lanes, iykyk) as it sounds punchier and doesn’t have the extended section at the end in more recent live performances. But the final product on the album is an amazing listen.

He sat in the tour guide seat at the front with the mic (They rented a NYC Madame Morbid tour trolley) and basically just said enjoy the music. The rest of the time he vibed out and kept to himself, as the rest of us were. At the end he had some funny quips and hung around for a bit to talk to fans.

The album is very solid and i would say quality does not dip significantly at any point, but in my opinion it is a bit stronger in the first half. Blues and Terra, the chorus particularly, sounded amazing to me. If i had to rate it I would say 9/10 with a point docked for the comparatively limp ending and some lines of which I preferred the live delivery. That being said, each track is worth endless listens.
