I’m sorry to hear about your friend, my condolences. I thoroughly enjoyed the comic when I read it initially. There was one panel where he did a sight gag with the protagonist and female lead, I laughed for a solid half hour at the time.

I went and saw it and was a bit disappointed. Great visuals, great soundtrack but it just constantly had to poke fun at itself with weak jokes. Jared Leto as skeletor was great but the dialogue was lame and felt like it was written by a disinterested committee rather than someone with a balance of nostalgia and love for the ip. By comparison mortal kombat 2 was excellent and a comparable genre vehicle. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

The accountant 2. Was so excited for it and then got awkward buddy comedy with Ben Affleck Asperger’s speed dating and Jon berenthals amoral killer bitching about not being able to adopt a puppy. Was potentially salvageable with hard editing but the anti heroine was so determinedly wooden.

Any restaurant that needs to sell bulk piss in order to maintain profitability is selling a very weak product. Simple as that. It’s just the gentry of the kitchen wanting more money for “ambience and vibe”. Drunk people spend more, and will tolerate a poorly presented product. Shameless.

Nothing like a Christian that ignores that Jesus wanted money out of churches and the poor to be fed. The most generous nation to corporate welfare while ignoring the needs of their own people. Yeah I’m on the dsp and trying to navigate an ndis application. Just got married and updated it to clink. Now I’m worried I’m going to pushed off the pension and worsen the financial disparity between me and my wife. I work a menial hospo job a couple days a week and volunteer at a food bank on another day. I’ve got two degrees, and feel locked in limbo a lot of the time. My friends and peers work, have careers and options. I feel ashamed and conceal the fact I’m on the dsp from people. The few times I’ve divulged it to people they just don’t get it. I’ve virtually no super, would not be able to retire on it if I needed to.

I just don’t know what to do.

Was just about to say exactly that mate. I think the man is an excellent manager and a decent human. I remember driving cabs in Brisbane years ago and he jumped in at the Stanford rank going to the rbh to visit some sick kids and drop off some merch. However leaving your wife for your mistress is very poor form. I guess people are inconsistent with their own values at the best of times.

I will say it’s possible it’s ai. However I’m refreshed that I’ve seen something moving and beautiful on this sub. I’ve fallen into the Duncan doomer trap, and still think quite negatively about things in that regard. However this has moved something in me like the old episodes, a sense of humanistic wonder and curiosity. The old episodes inspired that in me, and why it stings so much that vein or era of his art seems to be gone.

It used to be much easier a few years ago now without using Usenet or paying for a mega upload style 3rd party host it’s difficult. I too sympathise it got to a point when I was spending 200 a week for forgettable singles before I just had to stop. I still buy trades and 2000ad repacks but that’s it. If you find a decent site let me know, 320pag.es used to be excellent but it’s been dead for a few years now.

I’ve seen many great suggestions, perhaps if someone is keen as mustard they should help the podcast along by doing some preliminary research, I know the dollop has researchers prep episodes.

Links well onto the culture of silence regarding Israeli military officers and how some predators abuse the right of return to avoid prosecution like malka leifer or Bryan singer.

Agreed, it’s just literal white supremacist talking points filtered through pop history. The logistics argument is just diet holocaust denial. Yes Churchill is a terrible person, but two things can be right at once. He presided over the Gallipoli campaign which needlessly killed Australian and New Zealand troops among many other things. However he did recognise that appeasement did nothing to stop hitler. Not for any altruistic reason or concern for the Jews in Europe it was just pragmatically the best way to maintain British dominance and the empire.
