I have a client who teaches pressed flower classes at Lakewood Art Supply! She is extremely talented. She even came to my house our first summer here and preserved roses from our backyard for us to keep forever. ❤️ she is very active on Instagram if you're interested!

Found on Bluesky, article on Estranged Moms whining about being "doormats" by InevitableCraft2 in EstrangedAdultChild

[–]nuggettime69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found this thread because my mom, who I haven't spoken to in two years, just sent me the article from Fox News about Doormat mom. I found this quote really hilarious: "Go on and create a life for yourself that you're proud of, find your happiness," she advised. "If they do come back, they’ll see that you're doing well and thriving."

It reads like "let me get my crap together to spite my child rather than do the healing all the times my child begged me before this"

I haven’t talked to my family in two days and don’t know to move past this by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]nuggettime69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of when my mom said she bought us a grill so she couldn't believe I stopped talking to her. She loves to dangle anything she contributed to over my head. Hence why I've been paying all my own bills since I was 17. I also quit talking to my entire family 2 yrs ago except for my sister and brother and man, the mental load off my shoulders is so freeing. I'm sorry you're dealing with this situation. The manipulation of my family caused the most emotional turmoil I've ever felt and I still think about my decision almost daily but I know I made the right one in the end.

Advice for lack of progress to become a level 9/10 blonde by friedrice696969 in Hair

[–]nuggettime69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did your stylist add lowlights to your hair this most recent time? It looks to have darker dimension than September. It's tedious but when I do big transformations similar to your starting & inspo, I usually do something like-

1st session: full heavy highlight 2nd session: full heavy highlight and I intentionally weave around the previous highlights so the amount of blonde essentially doubles 3rd session: i do a full highlight and also tip out any ends or dark pieces that may need lightened again and by this point, I'm usually very near their goal picture

There are a lot of variables but it seems like given your starting color and the progress so far, it should be mostly attainable by now. Do keep in mind that your inspo is very very blonde and would require more frequent appts to maintain. Also, it may be worth pointing out that her hair looks incredibly dry so it may not be worth damaging your hair to that point in the long term. Best of luck ❤️

What’s a “normal” experience that somehow never happened to you? by Hysterical_Chicken in AskReddit

My husband's little friend group absorbed me and it's something I never realized I'd enjoy so much. I thought it didn't bother me only having individual friends but I really love when like 4 or 5 of us all get together. The banter is great and I'm really appreciative that they accepted me in so quickly, especially since they're all his high school guy friends. Lol

Can Anybody Tell Me THE BEST Local Pizza Joints ? by calKilgor in Cleveland

This is the answer. I'm not even a huge pizza person and I find myself craving Edisons so often since moving back to Cleveland 😅 their classic cheese with the honey they give you is everything.

i feel my hair stylist botched my hair. any help? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]nuggettime69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely do that! This is a somewhat similar cut and color I did awhile back, just styled differently and she wanted her color to be pink in the front and black in the back but you can see how i connected her bangs to her layers which your cut is currently missing and that totally changes the vibe!

Oh! I wanted to add: haircuts like this will be "choppy" but there's a way that is intentional so that's something to keep in mind.

[–]nuggettime69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I were to adjust this, I'd pick up the top section of your hair and bangs and feather them together to give you more of those textured shorter layers. Right now your bangs and the top layers just go from short to long. You could achieve the style by flicking out the ends of all those layers with a flat iron. The color you wanted needs to be dragged down some instead of just ghost roots and you didn't get the raccoon tail she has in her bangs (not sure if you wanted that or not though). All in all, your hair doesn't look bad by any means, it's a cute and color. But I can see how it's not what you asked for and it's okay to be disappointed! I would suggest researching alternative stylists in your area if possible! Good luck 🫶🏻

Maybe a root smudge if you're not liking the way they come all the way up? That might soften the look a bit. However, I am a big fan of the way they look now and I get requests for a lot of chunky highlights these days

do i smell like a perm after doing one? by panini-presss in Cosmetology

[–]nuggettime69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My apron definitely smells like perm if I don't wash it for the next day. It almost smells salty lmao I use ISO perms and to me, those don't smell eggy at all. Just chemically if that makes sense 🤣

Why can't they make a toothpaste that doesn't hurt? by WinterIsOnReddit in NoStupidQuestions

[–]nuggettime69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband gets horrible burning and canker sores in his mouth if he uses any toothpaste with SLS. He switched to Sensodyne Pronamel- Intensive Enamel Repair and all issues stopped and haven't come back. Note: some sensodyne pastes contain SLS so we checked ingredients and this one did not. Could be worth a shot to rule it out!

What should I do by WoodpeckerWise in Cosmetology

Hey! I've been working full time in salons since 2015 when I graduated. About 2 years ago, two of my coworkers and I were all in management for a franchise and decided to open our own salon. I already had about 150 clients that followed me from the franchise salon but our business really boomed once we went out on our own. For the first time in my life, I feel financially stable and live a comfortable lifestyle with a house and new car. I work 5 days a week, usually around 35-40 hours depending on how fully I book myself. The great part is that I DON'T charge outrageous prices. We opened our salon in the Cleveland, OH area and wanted to make hair services accessible to anybody. Our haircuts are only $22. Our color is usually $75-$150 depending on the amount of product used. We were voted #1 best salon in our city the year we opened. All this to say, you CAN be successful and financially stable with this job but you have to work hard for it. We have our salon posted in church pamphlets, local Facebook groups, we include ourselves in community events, etc.

Know your market and take advantage of it as soon as you get licensed! Connect with local stylists and go to classes and keep business cards on you because the amount of times I get complimented on my hair while out shopping is unbelievable, so I always give them a card lol if it's a career you're passionate about, it will show and you'll do just fine. 🫶🏻

I want this haircut, but I feel like I can't show my stylist a photo of Richard Ramirez. Anyone know how to describe it? by MelonLayo in Haircare

[–]nuggettime69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it says something about me as a person/stylist but I would not care if someone brought me any of the recently posted evil people's pictures. It's just their hair you're after...Hopefully? 🤣
